Paw Hub Terms of Service

Version 2026-10-31b · Ontario, Canada

These Terms are the agreement between you and Paw Hub for using paw-hub.co. They apply to guests who book yards and hosts who list them, to owners who book pet sitting, pet waste removal, dog walking or grooming, to the sitters, vendors, walkers and groomers who offer them, and to anyone who visits the site. Please read them with our Privacy Policy and, before you book, the Guest Waiver for a yard, the Pet Sitting Waiver for pet sitting, the Dog Walking Waiver for dog walking or the Grooming Waiver for grooming. By creating an account or using Paw Hub, you agree to these Terms.

Paw Hub is in beta. Section 22 explains what that means.

1. What Paw Hub is

  • Paw Hub is an online marketplace. Hosts list private yards, fields and other spaces, and guests book them by the hour for their dogs. Sitters offer pet sitting for dogs, at their own home or at the owner's, and owners book it by the night, the day or the visit. Vendors clean up dog waste in owners' yards, and owners book them by the visit. Walkers walk dogs from their owners' homes, and owners book them by the walk. Groomers groom dogs at their own place or at the owner's, and owners book them by the appointment.
  • A booking is an agreement between the guest and the host, a stay is an agreement between the owner and the sitter, a series of pet waste removal visits is an agreement between the owner and the vendor, a walk plan is an agreement between the owner and the walker, and a groom is an agreement between the owner and the groomer. Paw Hub runs the site, collects the payment, pays the host, the sitter, the vendor, the walker or the groomer, and provides messaging, reviews and reports. Paw Hub isn't a party to the yard visit, the stay, the pet waste removal visit, the walk or the groom itself.
  • Paw Hub doesn't own, run or control any yard, and doesn't employ any sitter, vendor, walker or groomer: sitters, vendors, walkers and groomers run their own businesses (sections 9, 11, 13 and 15). We review every listing and every sitter's, vendor's, walker's and groomer's profile before it goes live, but we don't routinely visit or inspect yards, sitters' homes or groomers' places, we don't check fences or hazards in person, we don't watch vendors at work, walkers on their walks or groomers at the table, and we don't verify what guests and owners tell us about their dogs.
  • A "Visited by Paw Hub" badge means someone from Paw Hub has visited that yard in person. It isn't an inspection, a safety check or a guarantee, and the yard may have changed since.
  • Paw Hub doesn't provide insurance for hosts, guests, sitters, vendors, walkers, groomers or owners, and offers no guarantee for yard visits, stays, pet waste removal visits, walks or grooms.
  • Yards, sitters, vendors, walkers and groomers on Paw Hub are in Ontario, and prices are in Canadian dollars.

2. Your account

  • You must be 18 or older to use Paw Hub.
  • You can sign in with Google, with Apple, with an email address and password, or with a link we email you. Keep your sign-in, and the email account you use with Paw Hub, secure: anyone who can read your email can sign in with a link. You're responsible for what happens under your account, so tell us right away if you think someone else has used it.
  • Use one account, and don't share it. Don't open a new account if we've suspended or banned you.
  • We send service emails about your bookings, requests and stays, pet waste removal series and visits, walk plans and walks, grooms, messages, listings, sitter, vendor, walker or groomer profile and account to the email address on your account. Apart from the reminder to book a groom again, which section 14 describes and which you can turn off, we don't send marketing email.

3. Booking a yard

  • When you reserve a time, we hold it for 15 minutes while you pay. Nothing is charged until your payment goes through. If you don't pay in time, the hold ends and the time is released.
  • Your visit is confirmed as soon as your payment goes through. The host doesn't need to approve it.
  • For every booking, you must confirm that every dog on the visit is current on its vaccinations (including rabies) and on flea, tick and parasite prevention, that no dog on the visit has a history of biting people or dogs, and that no dog is subject to a dangerous-dog order. You must also accept the Guest Waiver and the community safety rules. These statements must stay true for the whole visit. If one stops being true, don't bring that dog.
  • Bring only the number of dogs you booked, and don't bring anyone who isn't part of your visit.
  • Arrive no earlier than your start time and leave by your end time. Paw Hub keeps 30 minutes free between bookings at a yard.
  • Once your booking is confirmed, your visit page and your emails show the yard's exact address, and from 2 hours before your visit until 24 hours after it ends, its access instructions. Keep them private. Don't share them, and don't go to the yard outside your booking.

4. Prices and payment

  • Hosts set their prices, per dog, per hour. Each additional dog costs half the price of the first. Where a host allows 30-minute visits, they cost 75% of the one-hour price. Hosts may also offer extras, paid or free. Extras are offered by your host, happen during the visit you book, and never extend it.
  • Paw Hub adds a booking fee to each booking. It is a percentage of everything in the booking: the time, any additional dogs and any extras. Today it is 20%, and a membership lowers it or takes it away (section 18).
  • The hourly price shown on a yard includes the booking fee for a guest with no membership. An extra shows the host's own price, and the booking fee on it is added in the price summary. Checkout shows each line and the full price in Canadian dollars before you pay. Paw Hub doesn't currently add sales tax (GST/HST) to bookings.
  • You pay by card through Stripe, our payment processor. Your card is charged when you pay, before the visit. Paw Hub never receives your full card number.
  • The price is set when you reserve. If it has changed since you picked your time, checkout shows the new price and asks you to agree to it first.
  • If we can't confirm a payment, for example because it arrived after your hold ended and someone else booked the time, we refund it in full.

5. Cancellations and refunds

  • You can cancel from your visit page until 2 hours before the start time, and you get a full refund.
  • A full refund includes the booking fee.
  • Less than 2 hours before the start time, a visit can't be cancelled and isn't refundable. It stays booked for you, and if you don't show up, it still counts as your visit and the host is paid. If something's come up, message the host.
  • Releasing a hold you haven't paid for costs nothing.
  • If the host cancels, you get a full refund, however close to the visit it is.
  • Paw Hub may cancel a booking, for example because of a safety concern, a problem with a listing or an account, or an error. If we cancel a paid booking, you get a full refund.
  • Refunds go back to the card you paid with and usually take 5 to 10 business days to appear.
  • If a yard is unsafe or not as described, or you can't get in, don't use it. Report the problem from your visit page or email us. We'll look into it and may give a full or partial refund.

6. Your dogs and your conduct

  • You're responsible for every dog you bring, whether or not you own it, and you must keep it under control at all times.
  • Under Ontario's Dog Owners' Liability Act, the owner of a dog is liable for damage caused when it bites or attacks a person or another domestic animal. You're responsible for any injury or damage your dogs cause.
  • Don't bring a dog that is sick, isn't vaccinated, has a history of biting, is subject to a dangerous-dog order, or that the law doesn't allow you to have.
  • Follow the community safety rules in the Guest Waiver and the host's rules on the listing. Keep dogs leashed going in and out, check that the space is secure before letting them off leash, pick up after them, and leave the yard as you found it.
  • Respect the host's home and neighbours. Stay within the space described in the listing, and don't photograph the host's home.
  • You're responsible for damage you or your dogs cause to the host's property.

7. Hosting a yard

Your listing

  • You must own the property or have every permission you need to host on it (for example, from a landlord, condo board or co-owner), and you must follow local by-laws.
  • Your listing must be accurate and complete. Describe the fencing honestly, including its height and any gaps. Say what dogs may see or hear, whether the entry is private, and whether you'll be around. Disclose every hazard you know about, such as water, pools, plants, wildlife, holes or chemicals.
  • We review every listing before it goes live. We may ask for changes, turn a listing down, or pause or remove it later.
  • You can edit your listing at any time, including while it is live. Changes apply right away, without another review, and we keep a record of each one. Update your listing as soon as anything changes — the fencing, a hazard, how to get in, or when your yard is free. The address itself still changes only through us: email us and we will move the listing.
  • You can pause your listing whenever you like. A paused listing is hidden and takes no new bookings; visits already booked still go ahead, and you can unpause it at any time. If we pause or remove a listing, only we can reverse that.
  • New prices and hours apply to bookings made after the change. Visits already booked keep the time and the price they were booked at.
  • Guests can book any time your listing shows as available, without asking you first. Have the yard ready and accessible for every booked visit.
  • Guests see your exact address only once their booking is confirmed, and your access instructions only from 2 hours before their visit until 24 hours after it ends.
  • Your photos are public. We publish resized copies without the location data a phone camera can add, but a photo can still show where you live, so don't upload one that shows your house number or street, or people without their permission. Upload JPEG, PNG or WebP photos.

Safety and responsibility

  • You're responsible for your property and for taking reasonable care that it's safe for guests and their dogs. Your duties as the occupier of the property, including under Ontario's Occupiers' Liability Act, stay with you. Paw Hub doesn't take them on.
  • Paw Hub doesn't provide host insurance. Check whether your own insurance covers hosting.
  • Don't refuse, cancel on or treat a guest differently because of a characteristic protected by human rights law.

Fees

  • Listing a yard is free. For each booking, Paw Hub keeps a commission from the booking's price. Paw Hub pays the card processing; it isn't taken from your earnings.
  • Today the commission is 15% of the booking's price when the guest has no membership, and 20% when the guest is a member. The booking's price is what you charge for the time, additional dogs and extras. The current rates are shown before you list and on your Earnings page. A booking's split is fixed when the guest books, so a later change never applies to a booking already made.
  • For example, a 1-hour visit with 2 dogs at CA$12 per dog per hour comes to CA$18.00. When the guest has no membership, Paw Hub keeps CA$2.70 and you earn CA$15.30. When the guest is a member, Paw Hub keeps CA$3.60 and you earn CA$14.40.
  • Guests also pay Paw Hub a booking fee on top of your price (section 4). It isn't part of your earnings. Your yard's hourly price is shown to guests with that fee included.
  • Some founding hosts get a lower commission for a limited time. If you do, we'll tell you the rate and when it ends.

Payouts

  • Paw Hub pays hosts through Stripe. To get paid, set up payouts from your host dashboard. Stripe collects your identity and bank details on its own pages and asks you to accept its own terms. It asks whether you are hosting as an individual or as a business, and collects what that answer requires. Payout accounts are Canadian, in Canadian dollars.
  • Your earnings for a visit move to your Stripe balance about 24 hours after the visit is completed, and a visit is marked completed about 30 minutes after it ends. Stripe then pays your bank on your payout schedule. Once payouts are set up, your host dashboard shows your schedule, and you can change it in your Stripe dashboard.
  • Your listing can go live before you set up payouts, but we can only pay you once your Stripe account is ready.
  • Payouts are for completed visits. A booking the guest cancels in time, at least 2 hours before the start, is refunded and isn't paid out. Inside those 2 hours a guest can't cancel, so the visit and your payout stand, including when the guest doesn't show up.
  • If we refund a guest in full before your payout for that visit has moved (say they couldn't get in, or the yard wasn't safe or as described), there's no payout for that visit. A partial refund we give a guest doesn't change your payout.
  • Paw Hub never takes back money already paid out to you because a guest was refunded or disputed a payment.
  • If a guest disputes a card payment, we may pause your payouts while we look into it, and the payout for that visit waits until the dispute is settled. If the guest's bank decides the dispute for the guest before that payout has moved, there's no payout for that visit.
  • If a card's bank warns us that a payment may be fraud, the payout for that visit waits until we've looked into it. If we refund the payment in full, there's no payout for that visit.

Cancelling as a host

  • You can cancel an upcoming confirmed booking from your bookings page. The guest always gets a full refund, and there's no payout for that booking.
  • Cancel only when you must. We may pause or remove the listings of hosts who cancel often.

Taxes

  • You're responsible for your own taxes on what you earn, including income tax and any GST/HST you must charge, collect or remit. Paw Hub doesn't currently add GST/HST to bookings, and we don't give tax advice.

8. Booking pet sitting

What pet sitting is

  • Sitters on Paw Hub offer up to four services for dogs: boarding, which is nights at the sitter's home, or a single day there; doggy day care, which is days at the sitter's home; house sitting, which is nights at your home, or a single day there; and drop-in visits to your home. Pet sitting on Paw Hub is for dogs only.
  • A stay is pet sitting booked through Paw Hub. It is an agreement between you, the owner who books it, and the sitter.
  • Book only for your own dogs, or for dogs whose owner has asked you to arrange their care. You then answer for them as this section says an owner does.

Requests

  • Choose a sitter, a service, your dates and your dogs, and send a request. For house sitting and drop-in visits, also give the address of the home, which must be in Ontario.
  • Every request says when the stay starts and ends: when you drop your dog off and pick it up, for boarding and day care; when the sitter arrives and leaves, for house sitting; and, for drop-in visits, the time of the first visit, the time of the last and how many visits a day. Times are on the hour, from 06:00 to 22:00 Eastern time. The stay starts at the first of these times and ends at the pick-up, when the sitter leaves, or when the last visit ends.
  • A stay can start as soon as 3 hours after you send the request, and up to 90 days ahead. Boarding and house sitting can last up to 30 nights, and one request for day care or drop-in visits can cover up to 31 days.
  • A dog can be in only one request or stay for the same dates. To ask another sitter for those dates, withdraw your request first, or wait for the sitter's answer.
  • When you send a request, your card is authorized for the stay's full price, but nothing is charged yet. The sitter sees your request once the authorization has gone through. If it hasn't within 15 minutes, the request lapses.
  • The sitter has 24 hours from the authorization to accept or decline your request, or until an hour before the stay starts, or an hour before the authorization on your card ends, if either is sooner. If they don't answer in time, the request expires.
  • Until the sitter accepts, you can withdraw your request. If you withdraw it, the sitter declines it or it expires, the authorization is cancelled and you aren't charged. How soon the amount stops showing as held on your card is up to your bank.
  • When the sitter accepts, your card is charged the full price and your stay is confirmed. If the charge doesn't go through, the stay isn't confirmed.
  • A sitter can accept a stay only if every day of it keeps within their limits, including the limit on dogs in their home (section 9).

Prices and payment

  • Sitters set their own prices: by the night for boarding and house sitting, by the day for doggy day care, and by the visit for drop-in visits. Boarding or house sitting that starts and ends on the same day is charged as one night. Each additional dog costs the sitter's own price for an additional dog.
  • A sitter may add a holiday rate. It is charged for the first dog only, and only for the nights, days or visits that fall on Paw Hub's holiday dates; a night counts on the date it begins. The holiday dates are shown on every sitter's page at least 12 months ahead.
  • A sitter who takes puppies may add a puppy rate. It is charged for each dog under one year old on the first date of the stay, counted in whole months from the birth month in the dog's profile, for each night, day or visit.
  • Paw Hub adds a booking fee to each stay, as it does to a yard booking. It is a percentage of everything in the stay: the nights, days or visits, any additional dogs and any holiday or puppy rate. Today it is 20%, and a membership lowers it or takes it away (section 18).
  • Before you send a request, you see each line and the full price in Canadian dollars. Paw Hub doesn't currently add sales tax (GST/HST) to stays.
  • A stay's price, booking fee included, is set when you send the request. A later change to the sitter's prices or to your membership doesn't change it.
  • You pay by card through Stripe, our payment processor. Paw Hub never receives your full card number.

Cancellations and refunds

  • You can cancel a confirmed stay from your stay page until 3 days (72 hours) before it starts, and you get a full refund, booking fee included.
  • Less than 3 days before it starts, a stay can't be cancelled and isn't refundable. It stays booked, and the sitter is paid in full, even if your dog doesn't go, comes home early or doesn't need every visit. If something has come up, message the sitter.
  • So a stay you request less than 3 days before it starts can't be cancelled once the sitter accepts it.
  • A confirmed stay can't be changed on Paw Hub. To change its dates, dogs or service, cancel it while you still can and send a new request.
  • If the sitter cancels before the stay starts, you get a full refund, however close to the stay it is.
  • Paw Hub may cancel a stay, for example because of a safety concern, a problem with a profile or an account, or an error. If we cancel a paid stay before it starts, you get a full refund.
  • If we ban a sitter, we cancel their stays, including one under way, refund you in full and email you, so that you can collect your dog. If a stay ends early because of the sitter for another reason, for example because they can't go on, tell us. We'll look into it and may refund you in full or in part.
  • If the sitter doesn't give the care you booked, email us, or report a message in your conversation with the sitter. We'll look into it and may give a full or partial refund.
  • Refunds go back to the card you paid with and usually take 5 to 10 business days to appear.

Your dogs

  • For every request, you must confirm three things. Every dog on the stay is current on its vaccinations (including rabies) and on flea, tick and parasite prevention. No dog on the stay has a history of biting people or dogs, or is subject to a dangerous-dog order. And each dog's profile is accurate and complete.
  • You must also accept the Pet Sitting Waiver. These statements must stay true for the whole stay. If one stops being true, tell the sitter, and don't leave that dog with them.
  • Don't send a dog that is sick, or that has an illness other dogs can catch.
  • Keep your dogs' profiles accurate and up to date: each dog's health, medications, feeding, routine, and how it is with dogs, children and cats. The sitter relies on them to decide whether they can care for your dog, and how. Before the stay, tell the sitter of anything that has changed.
  • Give the sitter what your dog needs for the stay, such as its food and medications, and tell them how to reach you during it.

Care during a stay, and who answers for what

  • During a stay the sitter has custody and care of your dog. They must care for it as section 9 and Ontario law require, and they answer for that care.
  • You remain responsible for your dog. Under Ontario's Dog Owners' Liability Act, a dog's owner is liable for damage caused when it bites or attacks a person or another domestic animal, and the Act counts as an owner anyone who possesses or harbours the dog. So during a stay, you and the sitter may both be liable for a bite or an attack.
  • If your dog needs a vet urgently during a stay and the sitter can't reach you, you authorize the sitter to take it to a vet, your own if they can, for the care the vet judges necessary. You pay for that care, to the vet, or to the sitter if they paid it. Paw Hub doesn't pay vet bills or pass on money for them.
  • For house sitting and drop-in visits, tell the sitter how to get in, and about anything in your home that could hurt them or your dogs. Your duties as the occupier of your home stay with you.
  • You can arrange to meet a sitter before you book, by message. A meeting isn't a stay: nothing is paid, and the Pet Sitting Waiver doesn't cover it.

Addresses

  • Once a boarding or day care stay is confirmed, your stay page shows the sitter's exact address and how to arrive, and your confirmation email tells you where to find it. Before that, you see only the sitter's general area. Keep the address private, and don't go there outside your stay or a meeting you have both agreed to.
  • For house sitting and drop-in visits, the sitter sees the address you give only once your stay is confirmed: on the stay page, which still shows it after the stay, and in their confirmation email. Before that, they see the city and, when we can work it out, roughly how far it is from them.

Sitters' checks

  • A sitter's profile goes live only after Paw Hub staff have reviewed it by hand and the sitter has passed an identity check and a Canadian criminal record check (section 9). Today our staff check by hand the sitter's government-issued photo ID and a police record check the sitter brings. Later, Paw Hub may run the checks through Certn, a screening company, and pay for them.
  • The checks have limits. A record check shows only what the records it searches held when it was run. Neither check looks at a sitter's home or at how they care for animals, and neither is a guarantee. We don't verify what sitters tell us about their homes, households or experience.
  • Paw Hub doesn't provide insurance or a guarantee for stays. Ask your sitter whether they have insurance for pet sitting, and check what your own insurance covers.

9. Offering pet sitting

Your own business

  • You offer pet sitting as your own business. You aren't Paw Hub's employee, agent or partner, and nothing in these Terms makes you one. You decide which requests to accept, your prices, your availability and how you care for dogs, within these Terms and the law. You provide what your business needs, beyond what an owner gives you for their dog.

Your profile

  • To offer pet sitting you need a host account and a sitter profile: one for each host. Paw Hub staff review every profile by hand. We may ask for changes, turn a profile down, or remove it later.
  • Your profile must be accurate and complete: your services, prices and limits, your experience and skills, your availability, and, if you offer boarding or day care, your home.
  • About your home, that means: its kind; whether it has a fenced yard; whether it is smoke-free; whether dogs may go on furniture and beds; your own dogs, cats and other pets; whether children live there, and in which age bands; and how often dogs get a potty break.
  • Once your profile is live, it can't be edited on Paw Hub, except for its holiday and puppy rates (Fees, below). If anything changes, such as a new pet, a child, a move or a gap in your fence, tell us at once.
  • Only you may care for the dogs you're booked for. Don't leave a dog in anyone else's sole care, someone in your household included, without its owner's agreement.
  • Your photos are public. We publish resized copies without the location data a phone camera can add, but a photo can still show where you live, so don't upload one that shows your house number or street, or people without their permission. Upload JPEG, PNG or WebP photos.
  • We don't publish your address. Your home has one approximate location, 80 to 180 metres from it, chosen the first time one of your yards, your sitter profile or your walker profile is there, and used by each one that comes there after it. Your profile shows the centre of the grid square, about 0.9 km by 0.6 km, that the approximate location is in (not always the square your home is in), and search measures distances from there, not from your home. Owners see your exact address only once they have a confirmed boarding or day care stay with you, and still after it. If you also have a live yard on Paw Hub, your profile says so, and a yard at your home shows its guests its address once their booking is confirmed.
  • You can't pause your profile on Paw Hub. If we remove a profile, it is hidden, takes no new requests and its open requests are declined; stays already confirmed still go ahead. A removed profile can't be put back.
  • Your prices are set before your profile goes live, and can't be changed on Paw Hub after that, except for your holiday and puppy rates (Fees, below).

Checks

  • Your profile goes live only once Paw Hub staff have reviewed it and you have passed an identity check and a Canadian criminal record check. Today our staff check them by hand: you show us government-issued photo ID and a police record check that you got from a police service. Later we may run both through Certn, a screening company, and pay for them.
  • You pass the identity check when Certn or our staff confirm who you are. You pass the record check when it finds no record, or when we have read what it found and decided it doesn't stop you sitting on Paw Hub. If you don't pass a check, or don't agree to one, your profile can't go live.
  • We may ask you to be checked through Certn later, even if our staff checked you by hand, and we may withdraw a check made by hand. If you don't pass a later check, your profile can't stay live.
  • Tell us at once if, after your check, you are charged with or convicted of an offence. We may ask you to be checked again.

Your home and the law

  • You must be allowed to offer each service where you offer it. Own your home, or have every permission you need, for example from a landlord or a condo board.
  • Follow the by-laws where you sit. They may limit the number of dogs and other animals in a home, require a licence for boarding, kennels, day cares or pet businesses, or restrict a business in a home. They also have rules on leashes, clean-up and dog licences.
  • Paw Hub's own limit: no more than three dogs in your home on any day, your own dogs included, across boarding and day care. Our limit isn't a permission. Many Ontario cities allow no more than three dogs in a home, and some count cats and other animals too. Where your city allows fewer, or needs a licence you don't have, its rule applies to you.
  • Owners come to your home to drop off and collect their dogs. Your duties as the occupier of your home, including under Ontario's Occupiers' Liability Act, stay with you.
  • Don't refuse, cancel on or treat an owner differently because of a characteristic protected by human rights law.

Caring for dogs

  • While a dog is in your care, you have custody of it, and Ontario's Provincial Animal Welfare Services Act, 2019 and its standards of care apply to you. Give every dog in your care:
    • enough food and clean water, as its owner's profile asks;
    • shelter from harmful heat and cold, with light, fresh air and a clean place to rest;
    • room to move, and the exercise it needs;
    • its medications, as its owner's profile says, if you agreed to give them; and
    • prompt care from a vet when it needs it.
  • Never cause or allow a dog to be in distress, or expose it to undue risk. Supervise dogs outside, even in a fenced yard. Keep apart dogs that may not get along, and keep doors and gates shut.
  • Tell the owner at once if their dog is hurt, ill, missing or in trouble, or if you can't go on with the stay.
  • Under Ontario's Dog Owners' Liability Act, anyone who possesses or harbours a dog counts as its owner. So while a dog is in your care, you may be liable with its owner if it bites or attacks a person or another domestic animal, whether or not you were at fault. Take reasonable care to prevent it.
  • Don't take in a pit bull as that Act defines one, or a dog subject to a dangerous-dog order. If you think a dog in a request is either, decline the request and tell us by email.
  • In an owner's home, for house sitting and drop-in visits: use the address, keys and any codes only for the stay, and keep them private. Don't bring anyone else in, leave the home as you found it, and return keys as you agreed.

Requests and stays

  • Accept or decline each request within 24 hours of the owner's card being authorized, or until an hour before the stay starts, or an hour before that authorization ends, if either is sooner. A request you don't answer in time expires.
  • Accept only stays you can care for properly. When you accept, we check every day of the stay against your limits, and a stay with a day already full can't be accepted.
  • The owner's card is charged when you accept. If the charge doesn't go through, the stay isn't confirmed.
  • With a request, you see the owner's note and the profile of each dog in it, with any contact details hidden. Once the stay is confirmed, you see them as written, with each dog's vet's name and phone number and, for house sitting and drop-in visits, the owner's address. Use them only for the stay.
  • Be ready for every confirmed stay.

Insurance

  • Paw Hub doesn't provide insurance for sitters, and offers no guarantee for stays. A home insurance policy may not cover a business in your home, or dogs that aren't yours. Check your own cover, and think about insurance made for pet sitting.

Fees

  • Offering pet sitting is free. For each stay, Paw Hub keeps a commission from the stay's price, as it does from a yard booking. Paw Hub pays the card processing; it isn't taken from your earnings.
  • Today the commission is 15% of the stay's price when the owner has no membership, and 20% when the owner is a member. The stay's price is what you charge for the nights, days or visits, additional dogs and any holiday or puppy rate; boarding or house sitting that starts and ends on the same day is one night. A stay's split is fixed when the owner sends the request.
  • For example, two nights of boarding for one dog at CA$50 a night comes to CA$100.00. When the owner has no membership, Paw Hub keeps CA$15.00 and you earn CA$85.00. When the owner is a member, Paw Hub keeps CA$20.00 and you earn CA$80.00.
  • You may set a holiday rate for each service and, where you take puppies, a puppy rate. You can change or remove them while your profile is a draft, and once it is live. A request already sent keeps the price it was sent at.
  • Owners also pay Paw Hub a booking fee on top of your price (section 8). It isn't part of your earnings.
  • A founding host's lower commission applies to their stays too, for the same limited time (section 7).

Payouts

  • Payouts work as they do for a yard (section 7): through Stripe, to a Canadian account. Your earnings for a stay move to your Stripe balance about 24 hours after the stay is completed, and a stay is marked completed about 30 minutes after it ends.
  • Payouts are for completed stays. A stay the owner cancels in time, at least 3 days before it starts, is refunded and isn't paid out. Inside those 3 days an owner can't cancel, so the stay and your payout stand, even if the dog doesn't come or goes home early.
  • What section 7 says of a full or partial refund before a payout, of money already paid out, and of a disputed card payment applies to stays too.

Cancelling as a sitter

  • You can cancel a confirmed stay from your stay page until it starts. The owner always gets a full refund, and there's no payout for that stay.
  • Cancel only when you must, and as early as you can: an owner who loses a sitter close to a stay may have nowhere for their dog. We may remove the profiles of sitters who cancel often.
  • Once a stay has started, you can't cancel it on Paw Hub. If you can't go on, tell the owner and us at once, and keep caring for the dog until its owner, or someone they name, collects it. We'll look into it: we may refund the owner in full or in part, and we may hold your payouts meanwhile.

Keeping it on Paw Hub

  • Take requests, stays and payment from owners you meet on Paw Hub only through Paw Hub. A stay arranged or paid for outside Paw Hub isn't covered by these Terms, the Pet Sitting Waiver, our refund rules or our support.

Taxes

  • You're responsible for your own taxes on what you earn, including income tax and any GST/HST you must charge, collect or remit. Paw Hub doesn't currently add GST/HST to stays, and we don't give tax advice.

10. Booking pet waste removal

What it is

  • Vendors on Paw Hub are businesses and individuals who clean up dog waste in yards. A visit is one cleanup of your yard. A series is the visits you book with one vendor at one address: weekly, every two weeks, twice a week, or a single cleanup.
  • A series is an agreement between you, the owner who books it, and the vendor, who supplies the visits. Paw Hub runs the site, collects the payment for each visit and pays the vendor, as section 1 says. Paw Hub isn't a party to the visits themselves.
  • Book pet waste removal only for the yard of your own home in Ontario or, if you host on Paw Hub, for a yard you host.

Your series' agreement

  • Each series has a written agreement. It names the vendor and the yard, and says how often the vendor comes, the price of each visit and of the first, booking fee included, how you pay, how to skip a visit, pause or cancel, what happens if a charge doesn't go through, how to report a problem, and how a price can change. It also authorizes Paw Hub to charge your saved card for each visit the vendor marks done.
  • You see the agreement in full before you send a request, and you accept it with one box. We email it to you then, and again, with the day of your visits and the date of the first, when the vendor accepts.
  • For your series, the agreement and these Terms go together. Where they differ, the agreement applies.

Requests

  • Search by postal code: you see the vendors who serve its area, by its first three characters. Choose a vendor and how often, say how many dogs you have and how big your yard is, give the address and how to get in, choose the week you'd like to start, and send a request. You can add a note for the vendor.
  • When you send a request, you save a card for the series. Nothing is charged then.
  • The vendor has 48 hours to accept or decline your request. If they don't answer in time, the request expires. Until they accept, you can withdraw it. A request that is withdrawn, declined or that expires costs nothing. You can have one series at a time with each vendor.
  • When the vendor accepts, they choose the day of the week for your visits (two days, not next to each other, for twice a week), or the date of a single cleanup, and your first visit is within 14 days. Your series is then active. A single cleanup ends once it is done, or once the day after its date has passed without it.

Prices and payment

  • Vendors set their own prices for a visit, by the number of dogs and how often, with an amount the vendor may add by the size of the yard. A first visit has a price of its own, since it clears what has built up, and so does a single cleanup.
  • Paw Hub adds a booking fee to each visit, as it does to a yard booking. It is a percentage of the vendor's price for the visit. Today it is 20%, and a membership lowers it or takes it away (section 18).
  • A vendor's prices are shown with the booking fee included for an owner with no membership. Your request, and its agreement, show the price of each visit by your own plan, in Canadian dollars. Paw Hub doesn't currently add sales tax (GST/HST) to visits.
  • You pay for each visit once it is done, on the card saved for the series, as your agreement says. Nothing is ever charged in advance, or for a visit that isn't done.
  • You pay by card through Stripe, our payment processor. Paw Hub never receives your full card number. The card stays saved for the series until it has ended and its last visit is paid or closed, and Paw Hub won't let you remove it from your account before then. You can give the series another card on its page at any time, except while a visit's payment is going through.
  • You can cancel your series at any time, with no fee, as your agreement says.
  • If a visit wasn't done properly, report it as your agreement says. We'll look into it and may give a full or partial refund. Refunds go back to the card you paid with and usually take 5 to 10 business days to appear.

Your yard, your dogs and your gate

  • Keep your access notes accurate, including any gate code and where your dogs will be on visit days. If anything changes, update them on the series' page before the next visit. To change the address, cancel the series and send a new request. If a visit still goes ahead after you cancel, you can send the new request to the same vendor once the day after that visit has passed.
  • On a visit's day, keep your dogs out of the yard from when the vendor tells you on Paw Hub that they're on their way until they mark the visit done, unless your notes say the vendor may work with them there. If a dog is loose in the yard, the vendor may skip the visit.
  • You remain responsible for your dogs. Under Ontario's Dog Owners' Liability Act, a dog's owner is liable for damage caused when it bites or attacks a person or another domestic animal, the vendor and their staff included.
  • Tell the vendor about anything in your yard that could hurt them, such as holes, a pool or broken glass. Your duties as the occupier of your property stay with you.
  • The vendor closes every gate they open and photographs it closed before they leave (section 11). Check your gate yourself before you let your dogs out.

Vendors' checks and insurance

  • A vendor's profile goes live only after Paw Hub staff have reviewed it by hand. We may ask the person who holds a vendor's account to pass an identity check and a Canadian criminal record check (section 9 describes them), but we don't promise that any vendor's has. Insurance is optional for vendors: a vendor's page says that their insurance has been checked only while a certificate of general liability insurance of at least CA$2 million, which our staff have checked, is in force.
  • The vendor confirms to us that everyone who does visits for them has been screened and trained (section 11). We don't check the vendor's staff ourselves.
  • On the date a vendor's insurance certificate ends, their page stops saying that their insurance has been checked, and their profile and your series go on as before. If we take a vendor's profile down, they can't mark visits done, so visits aren't done and nothing is charged. Your series stays as it is, and you can cancel it. If we ban the vendor, your series ends at once.
  • The checks have limits, and none is a guarantee. Insurance pays only what its policy covers, which may not include harm to your dogs. Paw Hub doesn't provide insurance or a guarantee for visits. Check what your own insurance covers.

Your address and your photos

  • Before the vendor accepts, they see your town, not your address. Once they accept, they see your address, how to get in and your notes, but only while your series has a visit for them to do: while it is active, and after it is paused or ended only for a visit that still goes ahead (your agreement says which). Paw Hub's administrators can see them too. We delete them once a request is withdrawn, declined or expires, or once a series has ended and its last visit can no longer be marked done.
  • The photo of your gate at each visit is seen only by you, by the vendor while your series has a visit for them to do, and by our administrators. We keep it for at least 180 days after the visit, and longer while a dispute about its payment is open.

11. Offering pet waste removal

Your own business

  • You offer pet waste removal as your own business, as an individual or a company. You supply each visit. Paw Hub arranges it through the site, collects the owner's payment and pays you, as section 1 says. You aren't Paw Hub's employee, agent or partner, and nothing in these Terms makes you one.
  • You decide which requests to accept, your prices, the days you work and how you do the work, within these Terms and the law. You provide your own tools, supplies and transport.

Your profile

  • To offer pet waste removal you need a host account and a vendor profile: one for each host. Paw Hub staff review every profile by hand. We may ask you for changes or for more about your business, such as its business number if it is a company, turn a profile down, or remove it later.
  • Your profile must be accurate: your business's name, the areas you serve (by the first three characters of their postal codes), the days you work, how often you visit, your prices, how you dispose of waste, how you clean your tools between yards, and whether you pause in winter. Update it as soon as anything changes. To change your business's name, kind or number, write to us.
  • Your profile is public, but for your insurance's details and certificate, any business number you give us and our staff's notes. While a certificate our staff have checked is current, your page says that your insurance has been checked. We don't ask for your own address.
  • You can pause your profile whenever you like. A paused profile is hidden and takes no new requests, and a request sent before you paused can't be accepted until you resume, so it expires if you don't resume within its 48 hours. Your active series go on. If we remove a profile, it can't be restored.
  • New prices apply to requests sent after the change. A series already requested keeps its price unless its owner accepts a new one within 30 days. If they don't, the old price stands, and you can end the series with 7 days' notice.

Before your profile goes live

  • We may ask the person who holds your account to pass an identity check and a Canadian criminal record check, as section 9 describes for sitters, before or after your profile goes live. If we ask and they don't complete or pass a check, we may remove your profile.
  • Insurance is optional. If your business has commercial general liability insurance of at least CA$2 million, you can send us its certificate, with its insurer and the date it ends: once our staff have checked it, your page says that your insurance has been checked. What you tell us of your insurance must be true and current. A certificate covers your profile up to the day before the date it ends. On that date your page stops saying that your insurance has been checked, and your profile and your series go on as before: you can then send us a new certificate for our staff to check. Tell us at once if your insurance is cancelled, reduced or ends before that date.
  • If you send us a certificate, we check only the insurer, the amount and the dates on it, not what your policy covers. Make sure it covers the work you do in owners' yards. We don't require insurance or cover for animals, but a general liability policy may not cover a dog harmed through your work: think about adding it.

Your staff

  • You answer for everyone who does visits for you, employees or contractors, as for yourself. Only you and your own staff may do your visits: don't pass a visit to another business.
  • By offering pet waste removal, you confirm, and must keep true, that before anyone does a visit for you, you have confirmed who they are and checked their criminal record, and trained them in what this section asks of every visit. Keep a record that you did, and show it to us if we ask.
  • You're responsible for your staff's pay, taxes and deductions, workplace insurance (WSIB) where the law requires it, and their health and safety at work, including the risks of what they handle.

At every visit

  • Use an owner's address, gate code and access notes only for that series' visits. Share them only with the staff doing the visit, keep them safe, and delete any copy you made once the series ends.
  • Before you set off for each visit, tell the owner on Paw Hub that you're on your way, so that they can bring their dogs in.
  • Go only into the yard the owner has described, and never into their home.
  • Close and latch every gate you open, check it, and photograph it closed before you leave. You need that photo to mark the visit done. If a gate won't close or latch, don't leave it open and walk away: secure it as well as you can, and tell the owner and us at once.
  • If a dog is loose in the yard and the owner's notes don't say you may work with it there, don't go in: skip the visit. Never let a dog out.
  • If a dog gets out, is hurt, or bites someone while you're there, tell the owner at once, and us.
  • Photograph only the closed gate. Don't photograph people, the owner's home, house numbers, cars or neighbours' yards, and don't keep or post any photo of an owner's yard.
  • Clean and disinfect your tools and footwear between yards, as each series' agreement states, so that you don't carry illness from one yard to the next.

Waste and the law

  • Dispose of waste lawfully, by the method each series' agreement states. If you leave bagged waste in the owner's own bin, follow that municipality's rules on which bin it goes in and how much. If you take it away, follow the rules on carrying and disposing of waste, including any approval or registration your business needs. This is your responsibility: Paw Hub doesn't check it.
  • Follow the by-laws where you work, and hold any licence your business needs.
  • If you leave a gate open and a dog gets out, or the waste you take is disposed of unlawfully, you answer for what follows. Your duties under the law stay with you.
  • Don't refuse, cancel on or treat an owner differently because of a characteristic protected by human rights law.

Requests and series

  • Accept or decline each request within 48 hours. A request you don't answer in time expires.
  • With a request, you see the owner's first name, their town, how often they'd like visits, the number of dogs, the yard's size, the week they'd like to start and their note, with any contact details hidden. Decline a request you can't reach or serve.
  • When you accept, choose the day of the week for the visits (two days, not next to each other, for twice a week), or the date of a single cleanup, with the first visit within 14 days. Once you accept, you see the address, how to get in and the owner's notes while the series has a visit for you to do: while it is active, and after a pause or an end only for a visit that still goes ahead.
  • Mark each visit done on Paw Hub, with the photo of the closed gate, from its date to the end of the day after. Mark a visit done only once you have done it. You can't mark one done within 6 hours of the last you marked done for the same series, or while the series' last payment is still going through or hasn't gone through. A visit not marked done by the end of the day after its date can't be charged or paid: if something stops you, tell us before then.
  • The owner can skip a visit, pause the series, or cancel it at any time. A skip, a pause or a cancel covers each visit whose deadline, 18:00 Eastern time the evening before its date, is still ahead; a visit already past its deadline still goes ahead, and is paid once you mark it done. Check your day list before every visit: a visit it doesn't show can't be marked done, and isn't paid. If an owner tells you themselves that they're cancelling, end the series on Paw Hub that day as cancelled at their request; if you can't that day, tell us at once, and we'll record it as of when they told you. Your day list then shows only a visit that was already past its deadline when they told you. End a series this way only when the owner has asked: we tell them who ended it.
  • You may skip a visit because of the weather, a locked gate, a loose dog or another good reason. Skip it on Paw Hub as early as you can. A visit you skip isn't charged, and isn't made up.
  • Each series' agreement states how you dispose of waste and clean your tools as your profile said when the owner sent the request. A later change to these words on your profile reaches only series requested after it.
  • If you pause in winter, no visit of a series falls between the winter dates its agreement states, which are your profile's when the owner sent the request, and none is charged. A later change to the dates on your profile reaches only series requested after it.
  • To end a series, end it on Paw Hub: an active series ends after 7 days' notice, and the visits within them go ahead, and a paused series ends at once. If a yard turns out much bigger than its owner said, the series' price still stands: tell them and us, and end the series if you must. We may remove the profiles of vendors who skip or end series often.

Fees

  • Offering pet waste removal is free. For each visit, Paw Hub keeps a commission from the visit's price, as it does from a yard booking. Paw Hub pays the card processing; it isn't taken from your earnings.
  • Today the commission is 15% of the visit's price when the owner has no membership, and 20% when the owner is a member. The visit's price is what you charge for it: your price for the number of dogs and how often, or your first-visit or single-cleanup price, and any amount for the size of the yard. A series' split is fixed with its price: when the owner sends the request, and again whenever a new price for it takes effect (section 10).
  • For example, a weekly visit for one dog at CA$25.00. When the owner has no membership, Paw Hub keeps CA$3.75 and you earn CA$21.25. When the owner is a member, Paw Hub keeps CA$5.00 and you earn CA$20.00.
  • So if an owner with no membership joins a plan during a series, the lower price their plan gives them applies to each visit done after our next nightly update, usually from the day after, and so does a member's split: on the example, you earn CA$20.00 a visit from then.
  • Owners also pay Paw Hub a booking fee on top of your price (section 10). It isn't part of your earnings. Your prices are shown to owners with that fee included.
  • A founding host's lower commission (section 7) applies to series requested while it lasts, and each keeps it until its price changes with the owner's plan or our booking fee.

Payouts

  • Payouts work as they do for a yard (section 7): through Stripe, to a Canadian account. A visit is marked completed 24 hours after you mark it done, which is the owner's time to report a problem, or, if they report one, once we have looked into it. Your earnings for it move to your Stripe balance about 24 hours after that.
  • You're paid for a visit once the owner's payment for it has gone through. If it doesn't go through, we pause the series, so that you don't go back unpaid, and ask the owner to pay. You're paid for that visit when they do. If they haven't paid 14 days after the visit, the series ends, and we'll look into it, and may pay you for it ourselves.
  • What section 7 says of a full or partial refund before a payout, of money already paid out, and of a disputed card payment applies to visits too.

Keeping it on Paw Hub

  • Take requests, visits and payment from owners you meet on Paw Hub only through Paw Hub, while a series with them lasts and for 12 months after it ends. Don't invite them to book or pay you another way: on your own website, through your own software, in cash or by transfer. This doesn't apply to an owner who was already your client before they found you on Paw Hub.
  • A visit arranged or paid for outside Paw Hub isn't covered by these Terms, our refund rules or our support. If you take an owner off Paw Hub, we may remove your profile.

Taxes

  • You're responsible for your own taxes on what you earn, including income tax and any GST/HST you must charge, collect or remit. Paw Hub doesn't currently add GST/HST to visits, and we don't give tax advice.
  • If your business is a company, give us its business number from the Canada Revenue Agency before we approve your profile. Otherwise it's optional. Only you and our staff see it.

12. Booking dog walking

What it is

  • Walkers on Paw Hub walk dogs from their owners' homes. A walk starts and ends at your door, on foot, with every dog on its leash the whole time, and takes the dogs of one household only: yours, three at most. A walk is 30 minutes, or 60 minutes where the walker offers it.
  • A walk plan is the walks you book with one walker for your dogs: walks on dates you choose, or the same walks every week until the plan ends.
  • A walk plan is an agreement between you, the owner who books it, and the walker, who walks your dogs. Paw Hub runs the site, collects the payment for the walks and pays the walker, as section 1 says. Paw Hub isn't a party to the walks themselves.
  • Book only for your own dogs, or for dogs whose owner has asked you to arrange their walks, from a home in Ontario. You then answer for them as this section says an owner does.

Your plan's agreement

  • Each walk plan has a written agreement. It names the walker and your home, and says your walks, the price of each walk and of a week of them, booking fee included, when your card is charged, how to skip a walk or end the plan, what happens if a charge doesn't go through, how to report a problem, and how a price can change. It also authorizes Paw Hub to charge your saved card for each week's walks before they start.
  • You see the agreement in full before you send a request, and you accept it with one box. You can read it on your plan's page until the plan has ended and its last week is closed. We email it to you when you send the request, again when the walker accepts, and again whenever it changes.
  • For your plan, the agreement and these Terms go together. Where they differ, the agreement applies.

Requests

  • You can meet a walker before you book: arrange it with them in messages. A meeting isn't a walk. Nothing is paid for it, and the Dog Walking Waiver doesn't cover it.
  • Search by postal code or town: you see the walkers whose walking area reaches it. Choose a walker and your dogs, then your walks: up to 14 dates within the next 28 days, with up to three walks a date, or walks every week on the days and at the times you choose, up to three a day, the first within 28 days. Walks start on the hour or the half hour, from 06:00 to 21:00 Eastern time, and the first at least 4 hours after you send the request. Give your address and how the walker gets in, and send a request. You can add a note for the walker.
  • When you send a request, you save a card for the plan and accept the Dog Walking Waiver. Nothing is charged then.
  • The walker has 48 hours to accept or decline your request, or until 2 hours before your first walk if that is sooner. If they don't answer in time, the request expires. Until they accept, you can withdraw it. A request that is withdrawn, declined or that expires costs nothing.
  • A walker can accept only walks that fit their day: none of their walks may overlap, with at least 15 minutes between them, and no day may have more walks than their limit. When the walker accepts, your plan is active and your card is charged.

Prices and payment

  • Walkers set their own prices: for a 30-minute walk, for a 60-minute walk if they offer one, and for each additional dog on a walk.
  • Paw Hub adds a booking fee to each walk, as it does to a yard booking. It is a percentage of the walker's price for the walk. Today it is 20%, and a membership lowers it or takes it away (section 18).
  • A walker's prices are shown with the booking fee included for an owner with no membership. Your request, and its agreement, show the price of each walk and of a week of your walks by your own plan, in Canadian dollars. Paw Hub doesn't currently add sales tax (GST/HST) to walks.
  • A plan's prices are set when you send the request, and no week is ever charged more. If your membership gives you a lower booking fee on the day a later week is charged, that week has the lower fee. A walker's new prices apply only to requests sent after the change.
  • You pay for each week before its walks. Weeks run from Monday to Sunday, and each week's walks are one charge. When the walker accepts, your card is charged for the walks of your first week, or, for walks on dates you chose, for every week of them. For walks every week, your card is then charged early each Monday, before 06:00 Eastern time, for that week's walks, less any you've skipped.
  • You pay by card through Stripe, our payment processor. Paw Hub never receives your full card number. The card stays saved for the plan until the plan has ended and its last week is closed, and Paw Hub won't let you remove it from your account before then. You can give the plan another card on its page at any time.
  • If a charge doesn't go through, the walker doesn't come until it's paid, as your agreement says.
  • If you dispute a payment for your walks with your bank, a plan of walks every week pauses: no week is charged until we've looked into the dispute and resumed the plan, or ended it.

Skipping, ending and refunds

  • You can skip any walk on your plan's page until its start time. A walk you skip is refunded in full, booking fee included, or, if its week hasn't been charged yet, it's left out of that week's charge. A skipped walk isn't made up.
  • If the walker cancels a walk, or doesn't walk it, you get its full price back. A walk the walker hasn't reported 48 hours after its start time is refunded as missed.
  • You can end your plan at any time, with no fee, as your agreement says. No week is charged after you end it. The walks already charged still go ahead unless you skip them, and when you end the plan on its page, you can skip them all in the same step.
  • If something went wrong on a walk, report it on your plan's page, or write to us, within 24 hours after the walk ends. We'll look into it and may refund that walk. If a dog is hurt or lost, tell the walker and us at once.
  • Refunds go back to the card you paid with and usually take 5 to 10 business days to appear.

Your dogs

  • In your plan's agreement you confirm what your dogs are and need: their vaccinations and licences, their behaviour, their profiles, their collars and leashes. Those statements must stay true for every walk. If one stops being true, tell the walker, and skip the walk.
  • Keep your dogs' profiles accurate. The walker sees each dog's name, its size and whether it's a puppy: tell them in your note or in messages anything else they need to decide whether they can walk your dog, and how, such as its health, its medications, and how it is with dogs, people and traffic. Before a walk, tell the walker of anything that has changed, such as a dog that is unwell or in heat.
  • You remain responsible for your dogs. Under Ontario's Dog Owners' Liability Act, a dog's owner is liable for damage caused when it bites or attacks a person or another domestic animal, and the Act counts as an owner anyone who possesses or harbours the dog. So during a walk, you and the walker may both be liable for a bite or an attack.
  • If your dog needs a vet urgently during a walk and the walker can't reach you, you authorize the walker to get it to a vet, your own if they can, for the care the vet judges necessary. You pay for that care, to the vet, or to the walker if they paid it. Paw Hub doesn't pay vet bills or pass on money for them.

Your home and your keys

  • Your access note tells the walker how to get in, such as where a key is, a lockbox or door code, or a buzzer, and where the leash and bags are. Keep it accurate, and update it on your plan's page if anything changes. Tell the walker before you change a lock or a code.
  • You and the walker agree how a key is handed over and returned. Paw Hub never holds keys or codes, and isn't part of handing them over.
  • Tell the walker about anything at your home that could hurt them or your dogs. Your duties as the occupier of your home stay with you.

Walkers' checks and insurance

  • A walker's profile goes live only after Paw Hub staff have reviewed it by hand, seen the walker's government-issued photo ID and a police record check they got from a police service, and checked that the profile's photo is the person on the ID.
  • Paw Hub doesn't check walkers' insurance, and a walker's page says nothing about it.
  • The checks have limits, and none is a guarantee. A record check shows only what the records it searches held when it was run, and neither check looks at how a walker handles dogs. Paw Hub doesn't provide insurance or a guarantee for walks. Ask your walker whether they have insurance, and check what your own insurance covers.

Your address and your walks' reports

  • Before the walker accepts, they see your town and, where we can place your postal code, roughly how far it is from them, not your address, and they read your note for the walker, with any contact details hidden; the note stays with the plan. Once they accept, they see your address and your access note while your plan is active or paused, and after it ends until its last week is closed. Paw Hub's administrators can see them too. We never email them to the walker; your own copy of the agreement, which we email you, has your address but not your access note. We delete your address and access note once a request is withdrawn, declined or expires, or once a plan has ended and its last week is closed.
  • After each walk, the walker sends you its report on Paw Hub: when it started and ended, a photo from the walk, pee and poo ticks, and any note the walker adds. Paw Hub doesn't track where a walk goes. The photo is seen only by you, the walker and our administrators. We delete it about 180 days after the walk, unless a dispute about its week's payment is still open.

13. Offering dog walking

Your own business

  • You offer dog walking as your own business. You walk each dog yourself. Paw Hub arranges your walks through the site, collects the owner's payment and pays you, as section 1 says. You aren't Paw Hub's employee, agent or partner, and nothing in these Terms makes you one.
  • You decide which requests to accept, your prices, the days and hours you take walks, how many walks a day, and how you walk the dogs in your care, within these Terms and the law. You provide what your business needs, such as bags, water and a spare leash.

Your profile

  • To offer dog walking you need a host account and a walker profile: one for each host. Paw Hub staff review every profile by hand. We may ask for changes, turn a profile down, or remove it later. A profile we remove isn't put back.
  • Your profile must be accurate: your experience and skills, your prices, how many dogs you take on a walk (one, two or three) and which sizes, whether you take puppies, how far from home you walk, the days and hours you take walks, how many walks a day, and the dates you're away. Update it as soon as anything changes.
  • Your profile is public, but for your address, the dates you're away, how many walks you take a day, and our staff's notes. It shows the first name on your Paw Hub account and the first letter of the name after it (Priya S., for example); an owner sees your full name only in the agreement of a walk plan they request with you. Your profile photo is public too. We publish resized copies without the location data a phone camera can add, but a photo can still show where you live, so don't upload one that shows your house number or street, or other people without their permission.
  • We don't publish your address. Your home has one approximate location, 80 to 180 metres from it, chosen the first time one of your yards, your sitter profile or your walker profile is there, and used by each one that comes there after it. Your profile shows the centre of the grid square, about 0.9 km by 0.6 km, that the approximate location is in (not always the square your home is in). The distance you walk from home, 1 to 10 km, is measured from that centre, not from your home, and search shows you to owners within it.
  • New prices apply to requests sent after the change. A walk plan keeps the prices it was requested at for as long as it lasts.

Checks and insurance

  • Your profile goes live only once Paw Hub staff have reviewed it and you have passed an identity check and a Canadian criminal record check, made by our staff by hand: you show us government-issued photo ID and a police record check you got from a police service, and we check that your profile photo is you. Tell us at once if, after your check, you are charged with or convicted of an offence.
  • Insurance is optional, and Paw Hub doesn't take walkers' insurance certificates yet. Make sure any insurance you have covers walking other people's dogs. A general liability policy usually doesn't cover a dog in your care that is hurt or lost, or a key you lose: think about adding care, custody and control cover and lost-key cover.

On every walk

  • Walk the dogs of one household only: the dogs on that plan's walk, three at most, or fewer if your profile says so. Never bring along another household's dog, or your own.
  • Keep every dog on its leash for the whole walk. Walks start and end at the owner's door, on foot. Don't take a dog to an off-leash area or a dog park, and don't drive it anywhere, except to a vet in an emergency.
  • Before each walk, check that each dog's collar or harness fits and holds and that its leash is sound. If one is worn or doesn't fit, tell the owner, and don't walk the dog with gear that could fail.
  • Never leave a dog alone, tied up or in a vehicle. Keep it away from other dogs and from people, unless the owner's notes say it's fine with them.
  • While a dog is in your care, you have custody of it, and Ontario's Provincial Animal Welfare Services Act, 2019 and its standards of care apply to you. Protect it from harmful heat and cold, give it water in warm weather, and shorten or cancel a walk when the weather makes it unsafe. Never cause or allow a dog to be in distress, or expose it to undue risk.
  • Under Ontario's Dog Owners' Liability Act, anyone who possesses or harbours a dog counts as its owner. So while you walk a dog, you may be liable with its owner if it bites or attacks a person or another domestic animal, whether or not you were at fault. Take reasonable care to prevent it.
  • Don't walk a pit bull as that Act defines one, or a dog subject to a dangerous-dog order. If you think a dog in a request is either, decline the request and report it.
  • Pick up after every dog, and dispose of the waste lawfully.
  • If a dog gets away, is hurt or ill, bites someone or is bitten, tell the owner at once, and us. If it needs a vet urgently and you can't reach the owner, get it to a vet, the owner's own if you can: the owner has authorized it and pays for it (section 12).

Owners' homes and keys

  • Use an owner's address, keys, codes and access note only for that plan's walks. Keep them safe, don't copy a key, and don't share any of them with anyone. Don't let anyone else into the home.
  • Go into the home only as far as the walk needs, such as to collect the dogs, their leashes and bags, and leave it as you found it, every door locked as the owner asked.
  • Return every key as you and the owner agreed, by the time the plan ends, and delete any copy you made of a code or of the access note. If you lose a key or can't lock up, tell the owner at once, and us. You answer for a key you lose and for a door you leave unlocked.

Requests, walks and reports

  • Owners may ask to meet you before they book: arrange it with them in messages. A meeting isn't a walk, and nothing is paid for it.
  • Accept or decline each request within 48 hours, or until 2 hours before its first walk if that is sooner. A request you don't answer in time expires.
  • With a request, you see the owner's first name, their town and, where we can place their postal code, roughly how far it is from you, the walks they want, each dog's name, size and whether it's a puppy, and the owner's note, with any contact details hidden, and your price for each walk before Paw Hub's commission. Decline a request you can't walk well or safely. When you accept, we check every walk against your day: none of your walks may overlap, with at least 15 minutes between them, and no day may have more walks than your limit.
  • Once you accept, you see the owner's address, how to get in and where the leash, bags and keys are, while the plan is active or paused and until its last week is closed. You see the owner's first name and each dog's name, size and whether it's a puppy: ask the owner in messages for anything else you need, such as the dogs' vet. Use them only for the walks.
  • The owner's card is charged for each week before its walks. Your day list says whether each walk's week is paid. Don't go to a walk whose week is unpaid: you aren't paid for it.
  • Press Start on Paw Hub when the walk starts at the owner's door, and End when you're back. To end a walk, take a photo of the dogs on it, tick pee and poo, and add a note for the owner: the walk is then reported. A walk can't be ended without its photo. Press Start and End only at those moments. Walk the full length booked unless the weather or a dog's welfare calls for less, and then say why in your note.
  • A walk not reported within 48 hours of its start time is refunded to the owner as missed, and isn't paid. If something stops you reporting a walk you did, tell us before then.
  • Photograph only the dogs. Don't photograph people, the inside of the owner's home, house numbers or cars, and don't post or keep any photo from a walk.
  • The owner can skip a walk until its start time, and end the plan at any time. Check your day list before every walk: a walk it doesn't show isn't paid. If an owner tells you themselves that they're ending the plan, end it on Paw Hub that day as ended at their request; if you can't that day, tell us at once. End a plan this way only when the owner has asked: we tell them who ended it.
  • You may cancel a walk because of the weather, illness or another good reason. Cancel it on Paw Hub as early as you can. The owner is refunded in full, the walk isn't made up, and it isn't paid.
  • To end a plan of weekly walks, give the owner 7 days' notice on Paw Hub. The walks within the notice go ahead, or you cancel them as above. We may remove the profiles of walkers who cancel, miss or end walks often.

Fees

  • Offering dog walking is free. For each walk, Paw Hub keeps a commission from the walk's price, as it does from a yard booking. Paw Hub pays the card processing; it isn't taken from your earnings.
  • Today the commission is 15% of the walk's price when the owner has no membership, and 20% when the owner is a member. The walk's price is what you charge for it: your price for its length, and for each additional dog.
  • For example, a 30-minute walk for one dog at CA$20.00. When the owner has no membership, Paw Hub keeps CA$3.00 and you earn CA$17.00. When the owner is a member, Paw Hub keeps CA$4.00 and you earn CA$16.00. Five such walks in a week earn you CA$85.00, or CA$80.00.
  • A walk plan's commission is set by the membership the owner has when they send the request, and it doesn't change while the plan lasts. So if an owner with no membership joins one during a plan, their booking fee goes down, and your earnings for each walk stay as they were.
  • Owners also pay Paw Hub a booking fee on top of your price (section 12). It isn't part of your earnings. Your prices are shown to owners with that fee included.
  • A founding host's lower commission (section 7) applies to walk plans requested while it lasts, and each keeps it for as long as the plan lasts.

Payouts

  • Payouts work as they do for a yard (section 7): through Stripe, to a Canadian account. You're paid once a week, for the walks of that week you reported.
  • A week runs from Monday to Sunday. It is marked completed 48 hours after it ends, on the Wednesday after it at the soonest, once 24 hours have passed after each of its walks ended, which is the owner's time to report a problem, and, if the owner reported a problem, once we have looked into it. Your earnings for the week move to your Stripe balance about 24 hours after that.
  • You aren't paid for a walk that was skipped, cancelled, missed or not walked, that you didn't go to because its week was unpaid, or that we refunded after a problem. A refund we give after a week is completed doesn't change your payout for it.
  • Paw Hub never takes back money already paid out to you because an owner was refunded or disputed a payment. If an owner disputes a week's payment, we may pause your payouts while we look into it, and the payout for that week waits until the dispute is settled. If the owner's bank decides the dispute for the owner before that payout has moved, there's no payout for that week. Their plan of walks every week pauses too: no week of it is charged until we resume the plan or end it.

Local rules

  • Follow the by-laws where you walk: leash rules, picking up after dogs, any limit on the number of dogs one person may walk, and the rules of each park. Paw Hub's limit of three dogs a walk isn't a permission: where a by-law allows fewer, it applies to you.
  • Hold any licence or permit your municipality requires of a dog walker. Some license anyone who walks dogs for pay, and others need a permit to walk more dogs than Paw Hub allows. This is your responsibility: Paw Hub doesn't check it.
  • Don't refuse, cancel on or treat an owner differently because of a characteristic protected by human rights law.

Keeping it on Paw Hub

  • Take requests, walks and payment from owners you meet on Paw Hub only through Paw Hub, while a walk plan with them lasts and for 12 months after it ends. Don't invite them to book or pay you another way: in cash, by transfer, or through your own website or software. This doesn't apply to an owner who was already your client before they found you on Paw Hub.
  • A walk arranged or paid for outside Paw Hub isn't covered by these Terms, the Dog Walking Waiver, our refund rules or our support. If you take an owner off Paw Hub, we may remove your profile.

Taxes

  • You're responsible for your own taxes on what you earn, including income tax and any GST/HST you must charge, collect or remit. Paw Hub doesn't currently add GST/HST to walks, and we don't give tax advice.
  • You may give us your business's number from the Canada Revenue Agency. It's optional, and only our staff see it.

14. Booking grooming

What grooming is

  • Groomers on Paw Hub offer up to three services for dogs: a full groom (a bath, drying, brushing, a haircut or trim, and nails), a bath and brush (a bath, drying, brushing and nails), and a nail trim on its own. A groomer may also offer add-ons: de-shedding, teeth brushing, nail grinding, paw balm, flea shampoo and de-matting. Grooming on Paw Hub is for dogs only.
  • Groomers on Paw Hub may not clean teeth beyond brushing them, or express anal glands. In Ontario, teeth cleaning without anesthesia and expressing anal glands internally are a vet's work: ask your vet.
  • A groomer grooms at their own place (a salon or a home studio), comes to you (in their van at your door, or in your home), or does both. Their page says which, and what they need at your home.
  • A groom is one appointment with one groomer, on one date, for the dogs of one household: yours, three at most, or fewer if the groomer's profile says so, and a puppy under 4 months only if it says the groomer takes puppies. A groom is an agreement between you, the owner who books it, and the groomer, who grooms your dogs. Paw Hub runs the site, collects the payment for the groom and pays the groomer, as section 1 says. Paw Hub isn't a party to the groom itself.
  • Book only for your own dogs, or for dogs whose owner has asked you to arrange their grooming, from a home in Ontario. You then answer for them as this section says an owner does.

Your groom's agreement

  • Each groom has a written agreement. It names the groomer, says when and where the groom is, each dog's service, coat and add-ons and your answer for a matted coat, the price, booking fee included, how your card is authorized and charged, how to cancel, what can happen at the table, and how to report a problem.
  • You see the agreement in full before you send a request, and you accept it with one box. You can read it on your groom's page until the groom is closed. We email it to you when you send the request, and again when the groomer accepts.
  • For your groom, the agreement and these Terms go together. Where they differ, the agreement applies.

Requests

  • You can ask a groomer about your dog before you book: message them from their page, and send photos of its coat if you're not sure how to describe it.
  • Search by postal code or town: you see the groomers whose place is within 25 km, and the groomers who travel to it. Choose a groomer and where the groom is, then a date and a start time, your dogs, and for each dog its service, its coat (short, long or complex), how matted it is, any add-ons, and your answer for a matted coat: "shave it short" or "ask me first". For a groom at your home, give your address and how the groomer gets there. You can add a note for the groomer.
  • A groom starts on the hour or the half hour, from 07:00 to 20:00 Eastern time, at least 18 hours after you send the request and up to 90 days ahead, within the groomer's hours, and ends within them. How long it takes is the groomer's own time for each dog's service and size, added up.
  • You can have only one request or upcoming groom for the same date. To ask another groomer for that date, withdraw your request first, or wait for the answer; once a groomer has accepted, cancel that groom first.
  • When you send a request, you accept the Grooming Waiver, and your card is authorized for the groom's full price, but nothing is charged yet. The groomer sees your request once the authorization has gone through. If it hasn't within 15 minutes, the request lapses.
  • The groomer has 24 hours from the authorization to accept or decline your request, or until 12 hours before the groom starts, if that is sooner. If they don't answer in time, the request expires.
  • Until the groomer accepts, you can withdraw your request. If you withdraw it, the groomer declines it or it expires, the authorization is cancelled and you aren't charged. How soon the amount stops showing as held on your card is up to your bank.
  • When the groomer accepts, your card is charged the full price and your groom is confirmed, however far ahead it is. If the charge doesn't go through, the groom isn't confirmed.
  • A groomer can accept only a groom that fits their day: none of their grooms may overlap, with at least 15 minutes between grooms at their place and 45 minutes around a groom at an owner's home, and none on a date they're away.

Prices and payment

  • Groomers set their own prices: for a full groom and for a bath and brush, a price for each size of dog and each kind of coat; one price for a nail trim; and a price for each add-on. Each dog on a groom is priced on its own. A groomer who travels to you includes their travel in their prices.
  • Paw Hub adds a booking fee to each groom, as it does to a yard booking. It is a percentage of the groomer's price for the groom. Today it is 20%, and a membership lowers it or takes it away (section 18).
  • A groomer's prices are shown with the booking fee included for an owner with no membership. Before you send a request, you see each line and the full price by your own plan, in Canadian dollars. Paw Hub doesn't currently add sales tax (GST/HST) to grooms.
  • A groom's price, booking fee included, is set when you send the request. A later change to the groomer's prices or to your membership doesn't change it.
  • The price is settled before the groom. The groomer can't charge you more at the table, for matting, handling, travel or anything else, and can't ask you to pay anything outside Paw Hub. Describe each dog's size and coat honestly: if the price shown is wrong for your dog, the groomer will decline your request and say why.
  • You pay by card through Stripe, our payment processor. Paw Hub never receives your full card number.

Cancelling and changes

  • You can cancel a confirmed groom from your groom's page until 24 hours before it starts, and you get a full refund, booking fee included.
  • Less than 24 hours before it starts, a groom can't be cancelled and isn't refundable. It stays booked, and the groomer is paid in full, even if your dog doesn't come or you aren't home. If something has come up, message the groomer.
  • So a groom you request less than 24 hours before it starts can't be cancelled once the groomer accepts it.
  • A confirmed groom can't be changed on Paw Hub. To change its date, time, place, dogs or services, cancel it while you still can and send a new request.
  • If the groomer cancels before the groom starts, you get a full refund, however close to the groom it is, and we email you. A groomer can't cancel a groom once it has started.
  • Paw Hub may cancel a groom, for example because of a safety concern, a problem with a profile or an account, or an error. If we cancel a paid groom, you get a full refund. If we ban a groomer, we cancel their grooms, refund you in full and email you.
  • Refunds go back to the card you paid with and usually take 5 to 10 business days to appear.

At the table

  • If a dog's coat is matted, the groomer follows your answer. If you chose "shave it short", they may clip the coat short. If you chose "ask me first", they message you before they start; without your yes, they groom as booked without shaving the coat short, give you a reduction, or stop the groom.
  • The groomer may give you one reduction before they mark the groom done, for example if they did less than you booked. That part of the price is refunded to your card, with the same share of the booking fee. You don't need to accept it.
  • The groomer may stop a groom for your dog's safety, for example if it is too stressed, aggressive, unwell or matted to go on safely. They tell you why, and half the price is refunded to your card, with half the booking fee.
  • Be on time. If you don't bring your dog, or no one is there for a groom at your home, the groomer may mark the groom a no-show from 15 minutes after its start time. A no-show is paid in full and isn't refunded.
  • Collect your dog when the groomer tells you it's ready, and by the groom's end time at the latest. If you'll be late, message the groomer.

After the groom

  • When the groomer marks the groom done, you get its report on Paw Hub, and by email with a link to it: a photo of your dogs after the groom and a note from the groomer. The photo is seen only by you, the groomer and our administrators. We delete it about 180 days after the groom, or later while a dispute about its payment is open.
  • If something went wrong, report it on your groom's page within 24 hours after the groomer marks it done. We'll look into it and may refund you in full or in part. If a dog was hurt, tell the groomer and us at once.
  • If the groomer hasn't marked the groom done, a no-show or stopped within 48 hours after its end, our staff look into it, and may refund you.
  • Your groom's page, and the report's email, offer Book again: a new request with the same groomer, dogs and services filled in, for a date you choose, with its own agreement.
  • After a groom, we email you once to suggest booking that groomer again, about 6 weeks later or when the groomer suggests (between 4 and 12 weeks), unless you've booked them again since. It's the one email we send that isn't about something you've asked for. Each one has a link to stop these reminders, which works without signing in, and you can turn them off or on from your account page.

Your dogs

  • In your groom's agreement you confirm what your dogs are and need: their rabies vaccination and parasite prevention, any bites, their coats, and their health. Those statements must stay true until the groom. If one stops being true, tell the groomer before the groom, and cancel it if you still can.
  • Tell the groomer in your note or in messages anything they need to groom your dog safely: its age, any health condition or medication, whether it is pregnant or in heat, any recent surgery or vaccination, and how it is with handling, nails, ears, dryers and other dogs. The groomer relies on it to decide whether they can groom your dog, and how.
  • Don't bring a dog that is sick, or that has an illness other dogs can catch.
  • You remain responsible for your dogs. Under Ontario's Dog Owners' Liability Act, a dog's owner is liable for damage caused when it bites or attacks a person or another domestic animal, and the Act counts as an owner anyone who possesses or harbours the dog. So during a groom, you and the groomer may both be liable for a bite or an attack.
  • If your dog needs a vet urgently during the groom and the groomer can't reach you, you authorize the groomer to get it to a vet, your own if they can, for the care the vet judges necessary. You pay for that care, to the vet, or to the groomer if they paid it. Paw Hub doesn't pay vet bills or pass on money for them. Whether a groomer pays for an injury they caused is between you and the groomer, and their insurer if they have one.

Addresses

  • For a groom at the groomer's place, your groom's page shows its address once the groomer accepts. We never email it. Before that, you see the town and roughly where it is. Keep the address private, especially a home studio's, and don't go there outside your groom.
  • For a groom at your home, before the groomer accepts they see your town and, where we can place your postal code, roughly how far it is from them, not your address, and they read your note, with any contact details hidden. Once they accept, they see your address and how to get there on the groom's page until the groom is closed. Paw Hub's administrators can see them too. We never email them to the groomer; your own copy of the agreement, which we email you, has your address. We delete your address and access note once the request ends without a groom, or once the groom is closed.
  • For a groom at your home, tell the groomer about anything there that could hurt them or your dogs, and where a van can park. Your duties as the occupier of your home stay with you.

Groomers' checks and insurance

  • A groomer's profile goes live only after Paw Hub staff have reviewed it by hand, seen the groomer's government-issued photo ID and a police record check they got from a police service, and checked that the profile's photo is the person on the ID. A groomer tells us they have groomed other people's dogs for at least a year, and their portfolio shows at least one before-and-after pair of their own work.
  • Paw Hub doesn't check groomers' insurance yet, and a groomer's page says nothing about it.
  • The checks have limits, and none is a guarantee. A record check shows only what the records it searches held when it was run, neither check looks at how a groomer handles dogs, and we don't check a groomer's experience, training, place, licences or tools. Paw Hub doesn't provide insurance or a guarantee for grooms. Ask your groomer whether they have insurance and what it covers, and check what your own insurance covers.

15. Offering grooming

Your own business

  • You offer grooming as your own business. You groom each dog yourself, one dog at a time. Paw Hub arranges your grooms through the site, collects the owner's payment and pays you, as section 1 says. You aren't Paw Hub's employee, agent or partner, and nothing in these Terms makes you one.
  • You decide which requests to accept, your prices, where you groom, your days and hours, and how you groom the dogs in your care, within these Terms and the law. You provide what your business needs: your tools, products, table, tub, dryers and, if you travel, your van and its water and power, or what you've agreed to use at an owner's home.

Your profile

  • To offer grooming you need a host account and a groomer profile: one for each host. Paw Hub staff review every profile by hand. We may ask for changes, turn a profile down, or remove it later. A profile we remove isn't put back.
  • Your profile must be accurate: your experience and skills; where you groom, and what your place is (a salon or a home studio) or how you travel (a van, or in owners' homes); what you need at an owner's home, such as water, an outlet, a bathroom or parking for a van; how far you travel; your services, your prices for each size and coat, your add-ons and their prices, and how long each service takes you for each size; the sizes you take, how many dogs of one household you take on a groom (one, two or three) and whether you take puppies under 4 months; your days and hours; the dates you're away; and how often you suggest a groom. Update it as soon as anything changes.
  • Once your profile is live, you can edit it yourself, but for your photos and your address, of which only the unit can change: to change either, write to us.
  • Your profile is public, but for your address, the dates you're away and our staff's notes. It shows the first name on your Paw Hub account and the first letter of the name after it (Priya S., for example); an owner sees your full name only in the agreement of a groom they request with you.
  • Your profile photo and your portfolio, two to six photos, are public too. Your portfolio must be your own work, with at least one before-and-after pair of the same dog. Don't use a photo of a dog you groomed through Paw Hub without its owner's agreement in messages. We publish resized copies without the location data a phone camera can add, but a photo can still show where you live or work, so don't upload one that shows a house number or street, or people without their permission.
  • We don't publish your address. Your place, or, if you only travel, the address you set out from, has one approximate location, 80 to 180 metres from it, chosen the first time one of your yards, your sitter profile, your walker profile or your groomer profile is there, and used by each one that comes there after it; a salon away from your home is a place of its own. Your profile shows the centre of the grid square, about 0.9 km by 0.6 km, that the approximate location is in (not always the square your place is in). If you groom at your place, search shows you to owners within 25 km of that centre. If you travel, you set how far, 1 to 30 km, measured from that centre, not from your place. If your place is a salon, you may give its street in your description; never give a home studio's.
  • New prices apply to requests sent after the change. A groom keeps the price it was requested at.

  • By offering grooming, you confirm that you have groomed other people's dogs for at least a year, and that your portfolio is your own work.
  • Insurance is optional, and Paw Hub doesn't take groomers' insurance certificates yet. Make sure any insurance you have covers grooming other people's dogs, where you groom. A general liability policy usually doesn't cover a dog in your care that is hurt, or your van: think about adding care, custody and control cover, and check that your vehicle insurance covers a business.

Your place, licences and the law

  • You must be allowed to groom where you groom. Own your place, or have every permission you need, for example from a landlord, a condo board or a salon's owner.
  • Follow the by-laws where you groom, and hold every licence they require. Some Ontario municipalities license grooming businesses, including grooming vans and grooming in a home, and require commercial general liability insurance of CA$2 million that names the municipality; at least one more begins licensing grooming on 1 February 2027. Some don't allow a grooming business in a home at all, and some don't allow clients to come to a business in a home. Where your municipality doesn't allow clients to come to you, don't offer grooms at your place: offer only grooms at owners' homes. This is your responsibility: Paw Hub doesn't check it.
  • If you groom at your home, owners come to it to drop off and collect their dogs. Your duties as the occupier of your home, including under Ontario's Occupiers' Liability Act, stay with you, and a home insurance policy may not cover a business in your home.
  • If you groom in a van, park, idle and work only where the law allows, and keep sidewalks and driveways clear. Never let wash water, shampoo, hair or waste into a street, a storm drain or a catch basin: they are for rain and melted snow. Hold it in your van and empty it lawfully, or, with the owner's agreement, into a drain in their home that goes to the sanitary sewer.
  • In an owner's home, use only the space, water and power you agreed with the owner, clean up after the groom, and leave it as you found it.
  • Don't refuse, cancel on or treat an owner differently because of a characteristic protected by human rights law.

Caring for dogs at the table

  • While a dog is in your care, you have custody of it, and Ontario's Provincial Animal Welfare Services Act, 2019 and its standards of care apply to you. Never cause or allow a dog to be in distress, or expose it to undue risk.
  • Never leave a dog alone on a table or in a tub, or held by a grooming loop. Never leave a dog alone in a drying cage or under a heated dryer, and keep any dryer's heat and air safe for the dog. Use the least restraint that keeps the dog and you safe. Give it water and a break when it needs one, and keep it safe from harmful heat and cold, in your van too.
  • Never give a dog a sedative or any other drug.
  • Groom only. The College of Veterinarians of Ontario treats some care as the practice of veterinary medicine: don't clean teeth beyond brushing them (no scaling or "anesthesia-free" dentistry), don't express anal glands, and don't say that a service treats or prevents a health problem. If you notice something that may need a vet, such as a lump, a wound, sore skin, ears or eyes, or parasites, tell the owner.
  • Ontario's rabies rules require whoever has the care or custody of a dog over 3 months old to make sure it is vaccinated against rabies, and that includes you while you groom it. The owner confirms each dog's rabies vaccination is current. You may ask the owner for proof in messages before you accept, and decline a request without it.
  • Under Ontario's Dog Owners' Liability Act, anyone who possesses or harbours a dog counts as its owner. So while you groom a dog, you may be liable with its owner if it bites or attacks a person or another domestic animal, whether or not you were at fault. Take reasonable care to prevent it, and keep dogs apart.
  • Don't groom a pit bull as that Act defines one, or a dog subject to a dangerous-dog order. If you think a dog in a request is either, decline the request and tell us by email.
  • Follow the owner's answer for a matted coat. If it is "ask me first", message the owner before you start, and never shave a coat short without their yes. Don't brush out a coat in a way that hurts the dog: if it can't be groomed humanely as booked, groom it as far as is humane and give a reduction, or stop the groom.
  • If a dog is hurt, falls ill, gets away, bites someone or is bitten, tell the owner at once, and us. If it needs a vet urgently and you can't reach the owner, get it to a vet, the owner's own if you can: the owner has authorized it and pays for it (section 14). Keep a record of any injury, and any record your licence asks for.

Owners' homes

  • Use an owner's address and access note only for that groom. Keep them safe and don't share them, and delete any copy you made once the groom is done. Don't let anyone else into the home, and go into it only as far as the groom needs.

Requests, grooms and reports

  • Accept or decline each request within 24 hours of the owner's card being authorized, or until 12 hours before the groom starts, if that is sooner. A request you don't answer in time expires.
  • With a request, you see the owner's first name, the date and time, where the groom is (at your place, or the owner's town and, where we can place their postal code, roughly how far it is from you), each dog's profile without its vet's details, each dog's service, coat, matting, add-ons and the owner's answer for a matted coat, the owner's note, with any contact details hidden, and your price before Paw Hub's commission.
  • Accept only grooms you can do well and safely. If the price shown is wrong for a dog, because its coat, its size or its matting isn't as described, decline and say why: the owner can send a new request. When you accept, we check the groom against your day: none of your grooms may overlap, with at least 15 minutes between grooms at your place and 45 minutes around a groom at an owner's home, within your hours and not on a date you're away.
  • The owner's card is charged when you accept. If the charge doesn't go through, the groom isn't confirmed.
  • Once a groom is confirmed, you see the owner's note and each dog's profile as written, with each dog's vet's name and phone number, and, for a groom at the owner's home, their address and how to get there, until the groom is closed. Use them only for the groom.
  • The price is settled before the groom. Don't ask an owner to pay anything more, at the table or outside Paw Hub: no extra for matting, handling, travel, a late pick-up or anything else. Your prices include your travel.
  • Before you mark a groom done, you may give the owner one reduction, a part of the price but never all of it, and say why. You may also stop a groom for the dog's safety, and say why: half the price is refunded. Tell the owner in messages too.
  • If the owner doesn't bring the dog, or no one is there for a groom at their home, you may mark a no-show from 15 minutes after the start time. It is paid in full.
  • Mark each groom done on Paw Hub when you hand the dogs back, with a photo of the dogs after the groom and a note for the owner. The groom is then reported. Photograph only the dogs: not people, the inside of an owner's home, house numbers or cars.
  • A groom you haven't marked done, a no-show or stopped within 48 hours after its end goes to our staff, and isn't paid until we've looked into it: we may settle it as done or as a no-show, or refund the owner.
  • The owner can cancel a groom until 24 hours before it starts. Check your grooms on Paw Hub before every day's work: a groom that isn't shown there isn't paid.

Cancelling as a groomer

  • You can cancel a confirmed groom from its page until it starts. The owner always gets a full refund, and there's no payout for that groom. Once a groom has started, you can't cancel it: give a reduction or stop it instead.
  • Cancel only when you must, and as early as you can. Our staff see every cancellation made within 48 hours of a groom, and we may remove the profiles of groomers who cancel often.

Fees

  • Offering grooming is free. For each groom, Paw Hub keeps a commission from the groom's price, as it does from a yard booking. Paw Hub pays the card processing; it isn't taken from your earnings.
  • Today the commission is 15% of the groom's price when the owner has no membership, and 20% when the owner is a member. The groom's price is what you charge for it: each dog's service at your price for its size and coat, and its add-ons. A groom's split is fixed when the owner sends the request.
  • For example, a full groom for one small dog with a short coat at CA$100.00. When the owner has no membership, Paw Hub keeps CA$15.00 and you earn CA$85.00. When the owner is a member, Paw Hub keeps CA$20.00 and you earn CA$80.00.
  • A reduction or a stopped groom lowers what you earn by the same share as the price. On the example, if you stop the groom, half the price is refunded and you earn CA$42.50, or CA$40.00. If you give a CA$30.00 reduction, you earn CA$59.50, or CA$56.00.
  • Owners also pay Paw Hub a booking fee on top of your price (section 14). It isn't part of your earnings. Your prices are shown to owners with that fee included.
  • A founding host's lower commission (section 7) applies to grooms requested while it lasts.

Payouts

  • Payouts work as they do for a yard (section 7): through Stripe, to a Canadian account.
  • A groom is marked completed 24 hours after you mark it done, mark a no-show or stop it, which is the owner's time to report a problem, and, if the owner reported a problem, once we have looked into it. Your earnings for the groom move to your Stripe balance about 24 hours after that.
  • A groom the owner cancels in time, at least 24 hours before it starts, is refunded and isn't paid out. Inside those 24 hours an owner can't cancel, so the groom and your payout stand, including when the owner doesn't come.
  • A reduction you give, or a groom you stop, lowers your payout as the Fees above say: for grooming, that is the one exception to section 7's rule that a partial refund doesn't change a payout. A partial refund we give the owner, such as after a problem they report, doesn't change your payout. If we refund an owner in full before your payout for that groom has moved, there's no payout for it.
  • Paw Hub never takes back money already paid out to you because an owner was refunded or disputed a payment. If an owner disputes a groom's payment, we may pause your payouts while we look into it, and the payout for that groom waits until the dispute is settled. If the owner's bank decides the dispute for the owner before that payout has moved, there's no payout for that groom.

Keeping it on Paw Hub

  • Take requests, grooms and payment from owners you meet on Paw Hub only through Paw Hub, for their next grooms too, and for 12 months after their last groom with you. Don't invite them to book or pay you another way: in cash, by transfer, or through your own website or software. Book again is how an owner books you again. This doesn't apply to an owner who was already your client before they found you on Paw Hub.
  • A groom arranged or paid for outside Paw Hub isn't covered by these Terms, the Grooming Waiver, our refund rules or our support. If you take an owner off Paw Hub, we may remove your profile.

Taxes

  • You're responsible for your own taxes on what you earn, including income tax and any GST/HST you must charge, collect or remit. Paw Hub doesn't currently add GST/HST to grooms, and we don't give tax advice.

16. Messages

  • Guests can message a host from a live yard page, and owners can message a sitter, a vendor, a walker or a groomer from their live page. Hosts can message guests who have booked one of their yards. Sitters, vendors, walkers and groomers can answer an owner who has written to them, but can't start a conversation.
  • Until a guest has a confirmed booking of a yard, an owner a confirmed stay with a sitter or a confirmed groom with a groomer, or a vendor or a walker has accepted an owner's series or walk plan, Paw Hub hides email addresses, phone numbers, web links and social media handles in messages between them, and in the note sent with a request. After that, messages are delivered as written.
  • Don't try to get around this, and don't arrange bookings or payments outside Paw Hub. A visit arranged outside Paw Hub isn't covered by these Terms, the Guest Waiver, our refund rules or our support.
  • Messages can't be edited or deleted once sent. We keep them as a record for support and disputes.
  • You can send up to 60 messages and start up to 20 new conversations a day.
  • Use Report this message on any message that is abusive, threatening or spam, or that asks you to deal outside Paw Hub.
  • Paw Hub's administrators read a conversation only to review a report about it, or a booking, stay, walk plan or groom between the two people in it, and every time they open one, it's logged.

17. Reviews

  • After a completed visit, the guest can review the yard and the host can review the guest, for up to 14 days after the visit ends.
  • After a completed stay, the owner can review the sitter, for up to 14 days after the stay ends. A sitter doesn't review the owner, so an owner's review is published 10 days after it is sent. It appears on the sitter's page with the owner's first name.
  • An owner reviews each stay once, and can't change a review after sending it. A review can't include an email address, a phone number, a web link, a social media handle, a postal code or the street address of the home the stay was at.
  • After the first visit of a series has been paid for, the owner can review the vendor, once for each series, until 14 days after the series ends. A vendor doesn't review the owner, so an owner's review is published 10 days after it is sent. It appears on the vendor's page with the owner's first name.
  • An owner can't change a review of a vendor after sending it. It can't include an email address, a phone number, a web link, a social media handle, a postal code or the street of the series' address.
  • After the first week of a walk plan in which a walk took place is completed, the owner can review the walker, once for each plan, until 14 days after the later of the day the plan ends and the day a week of it was last completed. A walker doesn't review the owner, so an owner's review is published 10 days after it is sent. It appears on the walker's page with the owner's first name.
  • An owner can't change a review of a walker after sending it. It can't include an email address, a phone number, a web link, a social media handle, a postal code or the street of the plan's address.
  • After a completed groom, the owner can review the groomer, for up to 14 days after the groom. A groomer doesn't review the owner, so an owner's review is published 10 days after it is sent. It appears on the groomer's page with the owner's first name.
  • An owner reviews each groom once, and can't change a review after sending it. A review can't include an email address, a phone number, a web link, a social media handle, a postal code or the street of the home the groom was at.
  • Reviews are double-blind. A review is published once both sides have reviewed, or 10 days after it was submitted, whichever comes first.
  • A guest's review appears on the yard page with the guest's first name, and its yes-or-no answers feed the yard's statistics. We may quote five-star reviews on our home page. The host can post a public reply.
  • Guests can add a private note that isn't public and is shown only to the host. Host reviews of guests aren't shown on public pages.
  • Reviews must be honest and about your own visit. Don't offer or accept anything in exchange for a review.
  • We may remove a review, or not publish it, if it breaks these Terms, for example because it's false, abusive or includes someone's personal information.

18. Memberships

  • Paw Hub offers optional memberships: Starter, Pro and Elite. You never need one to book.
  • A membership lowers the booking fee on your bookings, or takes it away. The membership page shows each plan's price and its booking fee before you join.
  • You pay through Stripe, and your membership renews automatically every month until you cancel.
  • The plan you have when you make a booking sets its booking fee. For a stay or a groom, that is the plan you have when you send the request. For pet waste removal, the plan you have when you send the request sets the booking fee of each visit of the series, and if your plan changes during the series, its agreement says what happens to its price (section 10). For dog walking, the weeks charged when the walker accepts have the booking fee of the plan you had when you sent the request, and each later week the booking fee of the plan you have on the day it is charged, but never a higher one than when you sent the request (section 12). Otherwise, a booking already made, or a request already sent, keeps its price.
  • You can change plans from your account page. A move to a higher plan takes effect at once, and your card is charged the difference for the rest of the month you've paid for. A move to a lower plan takes effect at the end of that month.
  • You can cancel at any time from your account page, and you keep your plan until the end of the month you've paid for. While a move to a lower plan is waiting, write to us at hello@paw-hub.co to cancel or to change your mind.
  • If a renewal payment fails, your plan stops applying until the payment goes through, and bookings you make, and requests you send, meanwhile have the booking fee of a guest with no membership. A pet waste removal series already requested keeps its price, and a walk plan's weeks are never charged a higher booking fee than when you sent its request. If the payment keeps failing, the membership ends.
  • We may change or stop memberships. We'll tell members before a price change applies to them.

19. Paw Points

  • Paw Points are Paw Hub's rewards. You earn them when you book, a new account is welcomed with some, members earn some each month, and you spend them in the Paw Hub Shop.
  • Any guest, and any owner who books pet sitting, pet waste removal, dog walking or grooming, can earn them, with or without a membership, and they can't be bought on their own.
  • When you create an account, we add 150 Paw Points to it as a welcome. An account that existed before the welcome began gets the same 150 points. The welcome is given once to each account. We may change or end the welcome; points already given stay yours.
  • A booking earns points on what you pay for the visit itself: the time, any additional dogs and any extras. Today that is 10 points for every CA$10, counted as a point for each whole dollar: a CA$18 visit earns 18 points, and a CA$24.50 visit earns 24. The booking fee doesn't earn points. Your account page shows the current rate and the points you hold.
  • A stay earns points the same way, on what you pay for the stay itself: the nights, days or visits, any additional dogs and any holiday or puppy rate. The booking fee doesn't earn points. In the rest of this section, a stay counts as a booking: it is made when you send the request, and a request that is withdrawn, declined or that lapses or expires earns nothing.
  • A pet waste removal visit earns points too, on the vendor's price for that visit. The booking fee doesn't earn points. In the rest of this section, each paid visit counts as a booking of its own, made when it was marked done, and the membership that counts for it is the one that set the series' price. A request, and a visit that is skipped, earns nothing. A visit still unpaid 14 days after it was done earns nothing, even if it's paid later.
  • A week of dog walks earns points too, on the walker's price for the walks in it that were walked and weren't refunded. The booking fee doesn't earn points. In the rest of this section, each week of a walk plan counts as a booking of its own, made when it was charged, and the membership that counts for it is the one whose booking fee it was charged at. Its points are added once the week is completed. A request, and a walk that is skipped, cancelled, missed or refunded before its week is completed, earns nothing. After that, a partial refund doesn't change the week's points.
  • A groom earns points too, on the groomer's price for it, less any part of that price refunded because the groomer gave a reduction or stopped the groom. The booking fee doesn't earn points. In the rest of this section, a groom counts as a booking: it is made when you send the request, and the membership that counts for it is the one you have then. Its points are added once the groom is completed. A request that is withdrawn, declined or that lapses or expires, and a groom that is cancelled, earns nothing. A no-show earns points like any groom. Any other partial refund, such as one we give after a problem you reported, doesn't change its points.
  • Members on some plans earn more points on a booking, and the membership page and your account page say so where they do. The membership you have when you make a booking is the one that counts for it. The price of a membership doesn't earn points the way a booking does; a membership's monthly points are set out below.
  • Each month you pay for a membership adds Paw Points to your account once the payment goes through: when you join, and at each renewal. The membership page shows how many each membership adds a month when you choose one. A month that cost you nothing, because a credit or a promotion code covered it, adds none. After you move up to a higher membership, its monthly points start at your next renewal. If a membership payment is refunded in full, or you dispute it and your bank returns the payment, or part of it, to you, that month keeps no points: we take back any it added, and add none after. A partial refund doesn't change them.
  • A booking's points are added to your account after your visit, stay or groom is completed, not when you pay.
  • A booking that is cancelled, or refunded in full, earns no points. If its points had already been added, we take them back. The same applies if you dispute the card payment and your bank returns the payment, or part of it, to you. Except as this section says for a week of dog walks and a groom, a partial refund doesn't change a booking's points.
  • A booking earns points only if you made it while Paw Points were offered. Paw Points began on 5 October 2026, so bookings made before then earn none.
  • Paw Points aren't money. They have no cash value, and they can't be exchanged for cash, sold, or moved to another account.
  • Paw Points don't expire as time passes.
  • We may change how points are earned, and we may offer other ways to earn them; where we do, the page that makes the offer says how. A booking keeps the rate that applied when you made it.

The Paw Hub Shop

  • Paw Hub sells the items in the Shop. They are bought with Paw Points, not money: each item has a price in points, shown on its page.
  • You can pick an order up, by arrangement: we email you to agree a time and a place. Or you can have it shipped to an address in Ontario. You pay for shipping by card. What it costs depends on what the order holds: one amount for each bed, which ships in a parcel of its own, and one for each parcel of toys. Toys sent with a bed travel with it at no extra charge. Your basket shows what your order's shipping comes to, and why, before you pay.
  • An order to be picked up is placed when you press the button that places it, and its points are spent then. An order to be shipped is placed once its shipping is paid. Until then its items and its points are held for you for thirty minutes, and they come back to you if the shipping isn't paid in that time.
  • When we ship an order we email you, with a tracking number where we have one.
  • To change or cancel an order after it is placed, write to us at hello@paw-hub.co. If we cancel an order, or can't fulfil it, its points come back to your account, and any shipping you paid by card is refunded to your card.
  • You can return an order within 30 days of receiving it, if its items are unused: write to us at hello@paw-hub.co first. When we have it back, its points come back to your account. The shipping you paid is refunded to your card only if an item arrived damaged or isn't what you ordered. For now an order is returned whole: we can't take back part of one.
  • An order in the Shop earns no Paw Points.
  • If points you have spent are later taken back — the yard visit, stay, pet waste removal visit, week of dog walks or groom that earned them was refunded in full, or a dispute you raised with your bank was decided for you — your balance can go below zero. Points you earn afterwards bring it back up before any can be spent.
  • Items are offered while they last, and an item's price in points can change. An order keeps the price it was placed at.

20. What you must not do

Don't:

  • break the law, these Terms, the Guest Waiver, the Pet Sitting Waiver, the Dog Walking Waiver, the Grooming Waiver or a host's rules;
  • list a space you don't have the right to host on, offer pet sitting where the law, your lease or your building's rules don't allow it, groom where the law or your licence doesn't allow it, or post false or misleading listings, profiles, photos or reviews;
  • arrange or pay for a booking, a stay, a pet waste removal visit, a dog walk or a groom outside Paw Hub, or use contact details from Paw Hub to do so;
  • put an email address, a phone number, a web link, a social media handle or a postal code in a profile's public words;
  • share a yard's address or access instructions, or enter a yard outside a booking;
  • share a sitter's address or an owner's, except to arrange a meeting you have both agreed to, or use either outside a stay or that meeting;
  • share an owner's address, gate code or access notes from a pet waste removal series, or use them for anything but its visits;
  • share an owner's address, keys, codes or access note from a walk plan, or use them for anything but its walks;
  • share a groomer's address, or an owner's address or access note from a groom, or use them for anything but that groom;
  • offer or do anything Ontario treats as a vet's work, such as cleaning a dog's teeth beyond brushing or expressing its anal glands internally, unless you're a vet;
  • care for or walk more dogs than these Terms or your local by-laws allow, or leave a dog in someone else's sole care without its owner's agreement;
  • harass, threaten, discriminate against or abuse anyone;
  • bring more dogs than you booked, or a dog that doesn't meet section 6 or, for a stay, section 8, or book a walk or a groom for a dog that doesn't meet its agreement;
  • make false reports or dishonest chargebacks;
  • copy or scrape data from Paw Hub, or use bots or other automated tools on it;
  • try to break into, probe or overload Paw Hub, or get around its limits or security; or
  • open another account after we've suspended or banned you.

21. Reports, suspension and closing your account

  • You can report a listing, a host, a guest or a message with the Report buttons, or by email. You can report a sitter's, vendor's, walker's or groomer's profile, a sitter, a vendor, a walker, a groomer or an owner by email. Reports go to Paw Hub for review. You can send up to 5 reports a day through the site.
  • If someone breaks these Terms or puts others at risk, we may remove content, pause or remove a listing or a profile, cancel bookings, stays and grooms, end series and walk plans, limit features, or suspend or ban an account. When we ban an account, we turn off its sign-in, pause its live listings, take its sitter, vendor, walker and groomer profiles off the site for good, decline its open requests, cancel its upcoming bookings, stays and grooms, with full refunds for what was paid for them, end its pet waste removal series, and end its walk plans, refunding every walk charged and not yet walked. If a stay is under way, we tell the owner at once so that they can collect their dog, and we may hold the sitter's payouts while we look into it.
  • We'll usually tell you why we've acted, unless the law, someone's safety or an investigation prevents it.
  • You can stop using Paw Hub at any time. You can't close your account in the app yet, so email us. Some records stay after an account is closed, as our Privacy Policy explains.
  • Sections 23 to 26 and 28, and any money owed, still apply after your account is closed.

22. Paw Hub is in beta

  • Paw Hub is new and still being built. Features will change, some things may not work as expected, and parts of the site may sometimes be unavailable.
  • The booking, payment and refund rules in these Terms still apply during the beta.
  • If something is broken or confusing, tell us through the feedback page (you'll need to sign in) or by email.

23. Content you post

  • You keep ownership of what you post on Paw Hub, such as listings, sitter, vendor, walker, groomer and dog profiles, photos, reviews, replies and messages.
  • You give Paw Hub a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, store, copy, resize, display and publish that content to run and promote Paw Hub, including by showing listings and reviews on our own pages. Our service providers may do this for us. The licence lasts while the content is on Paw Hub and, after that, for records we keep and copies already made.
  • A vendor's photos of an owner's gate are for that owner, for its vendor while the series has a visit for them to do, and for our administrators. We never publish them or use them to promote Paw Hub.
  • A walker's photos from a walk are for that walk plan's owner, its walker and our administrators. We never publish them or use them to promote Paw Hub.
  • A groomer's photo of an owner's dogs after a groom is for that groom's owner, its groomer and our administrators. We never publish it or use it to promote Paw Hub.
  • You confirm that you have the right to post your content and that it doesn't break the law or anyone else's rights, including their privacy.
  • If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.
  • Paw Hub's name, logo, design and software belong to Paw Hub.

24. Disclaimers

  • Paw Hub is provided as is and as available. Listings, sitters', vendors', walkers' and groomers' profiles, dogs' profiles, statements about dogs and yards, walks' and grooms' reports and reviews come from our users, and we don't verify them.
  • To the extent permitted by law, Paw Hub makes no promise about any yard, host, guest, sitter, vendor, walker, groomer, owner or dog, including that a yard is safe, secure, fenced as described or suitable for your dog, that a sitter will care for your dog as you would, that a vendor will leave every gate closed, that a walker will walk your dog as booked or keep your keys safe, that a groomer will groom your dog as you asked or without a nick, that a groomer's place is licensed, that a check found everything there is to find, that a vendor's, a walker's or a groomer's insurance will cover a loss, that you won't see or meet other people or animals, or that a yard visit, a stay, a pet waste removal visit, a walk or a groom will go as planned.
  • We don't promise that Paw Hub will always be available, error-free or secure.
  • Off-leash play has real risks, and so do leaving your dog in someone else's care, sending it on a walk with someone else and having it groomed. The Guest Waiver, the Pet Sitting Waiver, the Dog Walking Waiver and the Grooming Waiver describe them.
  • Nothing in these Terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be waived.

25. Limitation of liability

  • To the extent permitted by law, Paw Hub isn't liable for injury, illness, death, loss or damage arising from a yard visit, a stay, a pet waste removal visit, a walk, a groom, a yard, a home, a groomer's place, a host, a sitter, a vendor, a walker, a groomer, a guest, an owner or a dog, or for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or lost profits, revenue or data.
  • To the extent permitted by law, Paw Hub's total liability to you for all claims about Paw Hub is limited to the greater of CA$100 and the amount Paw Hub received from you in the 12 months before the claim. For a host, a sitter, a vendor, a walker or a groomer, that amount is the fees Paw Hub kept from your bookings, stays, visits, walks and grooms.
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that the law doesn't allow to be excluded or limited.

26. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to cover Paw Hub for claims, losses, damages and reasonable legal costs brought by someone else that arise from your breach of these Terms or the law, your content, your listing or property if you host, the care you give and your home if you offer pet sitting, your work, your staff and the waste you take if you offer pet waste removal, your walks and the keys and codes you hold if you offer dog walking, your grooms, your place, your van and the water and waste from them if you offer grooming, or your visits, your stays, your walks, your grooms, your home, your yard and your dogs if you book.

27. Changes to these Terms

  • The version date at the top shows when these Terms last changed.
  • If we make a material change, we'll tell you by email or on Paw Hub before it takes effect. Changes don't apply to bookings made, or requests sent, before they take effect. A pet waste removal series, a walk plan and a groom each keep the agreement they were made under. A new price reaches a series only as its agreement says (section 10), and a walk plan is never charged more than its agreement's prices (section 12).
  • If you keep using Paw Hub after a change takes effect, the updated Terms apply. If you don't agree, stop using Paw Hub and ask us to close your account.

28. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute about them, unless consumer protection law gives you the right to go to court somewhere else.

29. General

  • These Terms, our Privacy Policy and, for each yard visit you book, the Guest Waiver, for each stay you book, the Pet Sitting Waiver, for each walk plan you book, the Dog Walking Waiver, and for each groom you book, the Grooming Waiver, are the whole agreement between you and Paw Hub about using Paw Hub. Each pet waste removal series, each walk plan and each groom also has its own agreement (sections 10, 12 and 14).
  • If a court finds part of these Terms unenforceable, the rest still applies.
  • If we don't enforce part of these Terms right away, we can still enforce it later.
  • You can't transfer your account or these Terms to someone else. We may transfer them as part of a sale, merger or reorganization of Paw Hub.
