Hosting on Paw Hub
Turn your yard into a private dog park
Dog owners across Ontario book private, fenced yards by the hour on Paw Hub. List yours, set your own price and hours, and get paid after each visit.
Listing a yard is free, and it takes about 15 minutes.
What hosting is
- You list a private space you own or have permission to use: a fenced yard, a field or another enclosed space.
- You set your own price for each dog's hour, the hours you're open, how many dogs a visit may bring and how far ahead guests can book.
- Guests book the times you've opened and pay as they book. You don't approve each booking, so have the yard ready for every visit.
- You can edit your listing at any time, and pause it whenever you like. Visits already booked still go ahead.
What it pays
You set the price of each dog's hour, and of any extras you offer.
Paw Hub keeps 15% of a booking when the guest has no membership, and 20% when they have one, card processing included. Example: a 2-dog hour at CA$12/dog/hour pays you CA$15.30 when the guest has no membership and CA$14.40 when they have one, in CAD.
The current rates are shown again before you list, and on your Earnings page.
How your yard goes live
Build your listing
Sign in and open the listing editor. It takes you through your yard a section at a time: where it is and how guests get in, the space and its fencing, photos, and your price and hours.
We review it
Submit it, and someone at Paw Hub reads it before it goes live. We may ask you for changes first.
Guests can book
Once your listing is approved, your yard is live: guests can find it and book the times you've opened.
Your address stays private
- Before a booking, guests see only your yard's general area on the map. Its exact address and how to get in are shown only to a guest whose booking is confirmed, on their visit page and in their emails.
- For every booking, the guest confirms that each dog is vaccinated, rabies included, and on flea, tick and parasite prevention, and that no dog has a history of biting. They also accept the Guest Waiver and the community safety rules.
- Your photos are public, so leave your house number and street out of them.
Getting paid
- Paw Hub pays hosts through Stripe. You set up payouts from your host dashboard, and Stripe asks for your identity and bank details on its own pages.
- Your earnings for a visit move to your Stripe balance about 24 hours after the visit is completed. Stripe then pays them to your bank on your payout schedule.
- Your yard can go live before you set up payouts, but we can only pay you once your Stripe account is ready.
- Payouts are in Canadian dollars, to a Canadian account.
Before you list
- You need to own the property, or have every permission you need to host on it (from a landlord, condo board or co-owner), and to follow local by-laws.
- Describe your yard honestly: its fencing and the fence's height, any gaps, and every hazard you know of.
- Paw Hub doesn't provide host insurance. Check whether your own insurance covers hosting.
The Terms of Service say the rest, in their section on hosting a yard.
Or offer pet sitting
Look after dogs through Paw Hub as well: boarding and day care at your home, house sitting and drop-in visits at the owner's.
- You choose the services you offer, set a rate for each, and say how many dogs and which sizes you take.
- At your home, the dogs you look after and your own are never more than three at once.
- Your exact address stays private, as a yard's does.
Paw Hub keeps 15% of the price when the owner has no membership, and 20% when they have one, card processing included.
Offer pet sittingBecome a Paw Hub walker
Walk dogs near your home, once or every week, at the rates you set.
- You set your own rate for a 30-minute walk, for a 60-minute walk if you offer one, and for each extra dog.
- Each walk is one household's dogs, up to three. You say which sizes you take, and whether you take puppies.
- You choose the days and hours you walk, and how far from home you go, up to 10 km.
- Owners ask you for a single walk or a weekly plan, and you accept the ones that suit you. They pay ahead, and we pay you through Stripe, in Canadian dollars, after each week of walks.
- Your home address stays private: owners see only your general area.
- Someone at Paw Hub reviews your profile before owners can find it.
Paw Hub keeps 15% of the price when the owner has no membership, and 20% when they have one, card processing included.
Offer dog walkingBecome a Paw Hub groomer
Groom dogs at your own place, at owners' homes, or both, at the prices you set.
- Your place can be a salon or a home studio. At owners' homes, you groom in a van or inside, up to 30 km away.
- You price a full groom and a bath and brush by each dog's size and coat, and set your own price for a nail trim and any add-ons.
- You say which sizes you take, whether you take puppies, and the days and hours you're open.
- Owners ask you for a groom, and their card is charged when you accept it. We pay you through Stripe, in Canadian dollars, after the groom is done.
- Your exact address stays private until you accept a groom at your place.
- Someone at Paw Hub reviews your profile before owners can find it.
Paw Hub keeps 15% of the price when the owner has no membership, and 20% when they have one, card processing included.
